  • Carole I burn at least 400+ calories with my hrm. My heart rate stays an average of 139-144. I have seen vjrose with a higher burn too. She and i have the same monitor. Running IS supposed to Burn a lot of calories. I believe you are working hard!! I really question the accuracy of your monitor. I don't think it is…
  • I too felt very awkward and embarrassed. I know people were looking at me. It was is pretty hard to deal with for a while. I read something that made a lot of sense to me. People WERE looking at me. But they are not looking at me to make fun of me. They are looking and saying to themselves yay good job I wish I was doing…
  • One from the great Master Yoda....do or do not there is no try.
  • Laurie wow congratulations lady. These past 4 months I've watched you with respect and watched your dedication. Your results give me hope. :flowerforyou: ~~Gina
  • If you have a target store in your area I recommend Pure Protein powder in vanilla creme. 130 calories with 23 g of protein. I like it, you can sometimes go on target.com to see if you can print a $2.00 coupon. I also really like Max Pro Protein Powder - Vanilla -130 calories and 30g of protein. I would never buy anything…

  • Hi we love salad's here too, but for a while they just seemed like a place our salad dressing on. Especially my husband he poured gobs of the stuff on. But I recently stopped using salad dressing altogether! I just had to stand up and say enough. My husband and I both really like blue cheese dressing so instead of the…

  • Congrats on 2.6 pounds lost, that is awesome! :drinker:
  • I am so glad that you are here. You have been wonderfully successful before and you can be that again. It is great that you have returned here 'cause in my opinion this is the best place to be. Just try to come back every day, log all of your food, drink your water and just let us care and support you. Welcome back…
  • 1500-1800 a day (more with exercise) I am losing weight faster now since I increased my calories from 1200. My body doesn't think it's in starvation mode anymore.
  • I took it through a weight loss dr and it did absolutely nothing for me. No side effects just absolutely nothing. That was a few years ago. Now I believe there are no short cuts but hard work is needed to make any kind of meaningful permanent changes. And that's the kind of changes I want. How about you?
  • I have a treat everyday. I think it is important to have little treats on a regular basis. For me it helps prevent cheat days. Eat as healthy as you can during the day and save a little room and calories for desert. So yes, yes, yes enjoy a little. :drinker:
  • It sounds like the challenge is staying under calories? I have managed to stay under calories. Yeah. If this is not the challenge know that this thread is still a bit confusing to me. If someone could message me if this is not the challenge I would love that. Cheers to all. :drinker:
  • I'm lucky to enjoy plain water, but I also enjoy making tea. I love spearmint tea, peppermint tea, apricot vanilla tea, constant comment and I think my favorite is Good earth original tea. It is naturally sweet and spicy. Sometimes when I need to bump up my calories and or protein I find that adding my vanilla protein…
  • Ok I'll confess sometimes I won't level the measuring cup our spoon like I know I should. I know every bite adds up, every bite counts so yep not leveling the measure and not listing it is a lie to MFP.:blushing:
  • You are NOT eating enough. Your body is doing it's job of protecting you from starvation. "Believe it or not, a weight-loss program that overly restricts calories will set you up for failure, as will a skipped meal. There is a point at which cutting calories will work against weight loss because consuming too few calories…
  • Supergeek perhaps is the oddest thing but it is always telling me to get going
  • Hi just thought that I would pop in and say hello. I too did my first 5k yesterday. Not as fast as shadowkitty but I was thrilled with a 55:35 time. I love being here on MFP I haven't lost a lot of weight yet but have enjoyed so many non-scale-victories. I'm glad to be able to join in this challenge and hope to go to the…
  • First off, congratulations you made a great healthy decision! I quit 7 months ago. I am amazed with all the extra time I have on my hands. I only smoked outside or in my car so I had a lot of time spent getting ready to go outside (weather). I was a 40 year, pack a day smoker. The longest time I had gone before with out…

  • Dude! You look awesome congratulations
  • Hands raised high. Yes I can take a joke....even if about myself if there is even a shred of construction there. :drinker:
  • Oh I think this is very sad. We know we get what put into this. Hopefully this person will learn too before they get discouraged and leave. It does sound crazy to me too but mostly it just makes me feel sad for this person.
  • Hello my friend Carolemack told me of this challenge. I hope there is still room. I would like to participate. I am not sure of the rules or how to find the rules. Thank you for your help. I look forward to getting started. Gina Quinn
  • That is a tough one. But I say no. Butt out! It will only cause heartache and a broken friendship. I think if you tell you will loose a friend. If things do come out I think it is your job as a friend to be there to comfort as needed.
  • The woman at my nutrition shop and I talked about this. I really love hot cereal. She said for mixing purpose it is best to mix in your protein powder after your porridge/hot cereal is made. Oh your idea of using your liquid protein drink into your cereal is a wonderful idea. As for not heating protein? We heat protein all…
