60 front squats with a 75 pound barbell and 50 95 pound deadlifts in CrossFit. Been going for 1.5 months and that was my most challenging but exciting WOD yet

You all rock, thanks guys for the helpful comments. Getting a food scale!
-
True! Thank you.
-
Yes, I don't log it, my fitbit does and I already assume it's off most the time. Hence why I still try to stay under 2,000 regardless of "exercise calories." It also logs when I'm on my feet all day as well, so that was an entire day's worth of exercise cals.
-
I guess I was confused because half of you are simply counting calories and swear by it and half of you are weighing your food by grams and swear by it, and I assume both ways are working.....?
-
Thanks everyone! I'm going to invest in a scale. I had no idea what a pain in the butt tracking food really is.
-
Recipe builder. I find the recipe I make online and caclculate it with the ingredients from there.

Some days I actually don't eat much. Not because I wasn't tracking, but because some days I just don't eat very much at all. Others not so much. I track everything and if I'm guessing I try to overestimate it the best I can so that doesn't happen. Example: a crock pot steak last night should have been about 400 cals, if…

I'm still confused, I'm sorry. Everyone says I'm not tracking correctly but how else do I track the calories in, say, 20 saltine crackers? A serving is five, and there are a certain amount of calories in that serving. Therefore, I add four servings to my diary. I leave nothing out, ever. 15 pop tart binges and all....
-
I tried to turn off my exercise calories so I wouldn't be tempted, but I think you have to be a premium member to do that. So instead I put in "extremely sedentary" and went from there. Still not enough.
-
I always thought I was doing great with logging. I thought twenty crackers was logged as twenty crackers and six pop tarts was six pop tarts haha. I don't understand I guess. I log everything if I can and the things I can't scan in I do just guess (my mistake). Slim fast, soup and crackers, and dinner didn't seem like I…

Thanks everyone. This is tough. I feel like giving up fast food and eating at home was pointless and less enjoyable at this point haha
-
Our classes are an hour long and they don't separate beginners from advance, you just scale what you can't do 100%. I think it's definitely the food.
-
Oh wow. Yeah, that would explain it. I had no idea it was so complex
-
Okay, try the diary again. Thanks for your help everyone.
-
I put it to public.....let me try again.
-
Diary is open for anyone who wants to look. This last week has been bad, I'll admit it, but before then? What was I doing wrong?
-
Thanks all. I'm impatient but I know I can't be in this journey. Sugar really gets me. Sugar and carbs is probably what's hindering me. I just don't want to admit it. But I just did.
-
Now I feel ridiculous because last week was a bad week sugar and calorie wise. Over 2,000 cals a day. However, my doctor told me that 1600-2000 calories a day for someone my weight is accurate if you're more sedentary. I haven't been lately. Damn those pop tarts, my diary makes it clear I can't have them in the house.
-
Agreed. I actually overestimate everything I make so I don't make that error.
-
No help there.......
-
Oh please. Any workout is dangerous if you do it incorrectly, not just Crossfit. That's the point of a good coach. If you injure yourself, you're the idiot who wasn't taught correctly and/or didn't care enough to learn.
-
Might be worth it. We adore Crossfit.
-
Crossfitters here too. Hubby and I are in our twenties and as unhealthy as ever. Started Crossfit a month ago and we're addicted.

2016 was one of the best years of my life. I got into good standing at my University (finally off academic probation after years of slacking), all A's and B's the last three semesters. I finished writing my 10th novel, and the best part of the entire year (and my life!) was welcoming our beautiful baby boy into our lives…
-
However, it's much more than I was doing. Before I barely had energy to get off the couch. So I guess in that regard I'm much more active regarding me personally.
-
I'm not doing intense cardio really. Rearranged the house, just essentially on my feet walking around and cleaning (lots of heavy duty cleaning) more than I'm sitting.
-
Is it normal to gain though?
-
I appreciate you guys, thank you. I DO want to do it, but therein lies the problem. One bad day turns into another, then weeks, then..... (See, I know better. I have crappy self control.)

The Shining. One of King's better works.
