Welcome :) I am post now, but I remember the many annoying symptoms I went through. :s I did not want to go onto hormone replacement therapy, and never did. I did take Soy Isoflavones with cycles of Black Cholosh (not sure of spelling), these helped take the edge off of my worse symptoms. ;) It would be interesting to hear…

I am on 1800mg of Neurotin for neuropathy in both my hands and feet, since 2011. It does help with my numbness, tingles and pain. I know for sure b/c my Dr. recently tried me on Cymbalta, but for me it was a big mistake (I only lasted for 4 days on it). My symptoms got so much worse, and the additional side effects really…

For others who have been through what you are going through. Give this group a try. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/512-diabetes-prediabetes-and-insulin-resistance . All scary stories can be a motivation, but they can be counterproductive if they scare you into giving up. You can make these changes, you may have…

There is a lot of experimentation on this, so there is hope. But it will be a long time before my insurance would cover this. For more reading: http://www.diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/pancreaticislet/ http://medicalxpress.com/news/2013-09-islet-cell-transplant-procedure-outcomes.html…

Like the gov. has done such a great job with the Rx industry? NOT They believe the manufacturers and then the manufacturers get to charge a few thousand times what their drugs are worth And we want to let that happen to supplements? Will they later come after me for growing my own herbs?
-
I never wanted to go on HRT, so I stayed away from Rx medication as I went into menopause. I did get good results for the mood swings and hot flashes with Black Cohosh and Soy Isoflavones. One warning I saw for the Black Cohosh is you should take a break from it about every 6 months or so.

I wrote this in 2005 I live and work in New York City, so the world trade center was a part of my landscape. Memory can be a funny thing and as you get older there are times when the past feels more real than the present. By real I mean properly grounded, that it makes more sense. That is part of an important connection I…

Up to 75$ with receipts and 45$ without, at least that is what the claim form says

I too submitted a claim, I used to drink these regularly. You can even submit a claim if you don't have proof of purchase. http://www.nakedjuiceclass.com/

Type 1 diabetic here, I too have had to give up bananas. I do have some berries with my breakfasts, they are pretty low carb (most melons are ok too in limited servings). Sugar recommendation on MFP is too low, I don't even track it anymore. Just track total carbs and fiber so I know how much insulin to take with meals.

Way to go kitty :drinker:

I inject 25u for my nighttime dose, the only time I have gotten any pain is injecting it cold. Room temp is the way to go with these pens. I was also told to press down the plunger slowly and to count to 10 before removing the needle. Do ask your endo.

Thank you for this thread! :flowerforyou: There are so many beautiful, powerful quotes to choose from. But this simple one has really stuck with me over the years. ************************************************* "Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will…

Thanks to the OP for this article. Attacking anyone or any given type hurts someone, even when that attack is hidden in humor. Humor is often used to excuse ideas or behavior would be otherwise unacceptable. Maybe that is why so many people here couldn't wait to pile on the jokes instead of actually discussing how much…

I use ground flax seeds often. Mixed into yogurt, which I then mix with a little go lean cereal (and add some berries if I have them). Added to tuna/chicken salad Sprinkled onto cooked vegetables (adds a nutty flavor)
