  • I want that recipe! I don't discovered banana bread and cinnamon muffins. I loved them. My tummy would have loved less of them. I'm feeling better, but yes, I think it's a challenge for me to eat enough.
  • I tried rice milk, and it was a total fail. Didn't know about using gelatin. Sounds complicated.
  • I am not eating enough or drinking enough water. I have a difficult time hitting even 1200 calories sometimes, though I try for closer to 1500. Sometimes I'm just so bored with food that I'd rather not eat than try to force something. So that could be the reason I suppose. What's the 3 month flare?
  • Suggest looking into the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. It's been shown to improve Crohn's. Haven't found a doctor yet who wants to admit that food can heal. :-( I'll know whether it's working for me when I get my colonoscopy in April, but I feel soooo much better since starting it. Much less fatigue. Still get a flare once…
  • I'm here. I'm strictly following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet in hopes of a clean colonoscopy in April. Doctor wants me on Humira, and I do NOT want to go that route. So she's giving me a shot at healing myself through diet. Don't think she believes I can do it, but it has worked for some. Here's hoping...
  • LOL. Ok. I figured this is probably best anyway. Also, I tried rice milk so that I could make safe yogurt for my son with allergies, and it was a complete waste of time, energy, and ingredients. It never formed into anything.
  • There wasn't. I got lucky.
  • I think my wife is going to kill me if I tell her that our kitchen counters are now going to house a keurig, juicer, yogurt maker, food processor, AND an ice cream maker and dehydrator. Lol. I have to find other ways to cook these things!
  • YAY!!!! I will try this tonight!
  • This is the one I used. Subbed in honey for the brown sugar. Guests loved it. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/roasted-fresh-ham-with-cider-glaze-recipe2.html

  • I'm looking for the recipe I used, but check this one injury. Looks legal to me? I didn't study it long, just quickly read through the ingredients. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/anne-burrell/brined-fresh-ham-recipe.html

  • AmyMoenae - I'm curious. Have you had any colonoscopies or any medical evidence of the food limitations helping your disease? I'm completely on board with the evidence for most people being their sense of wellness. I get that. But for me I'm looking to see if it's reasonable for me to expect an improvement in my…
  • I'm so glad you said that! OMG she tried to scold me for calling people out for being mean. She actually said to me, "you've done it twice now." Lol. I was like, yeah and I'll keep on doing it until people are nice! I had a really bad private exchange with her and left after she deleted my public comment. Weird.
  • I am! Do you use the same username?
  • Yeah, but I wouldn't call it a ham. It was called a picnic ham, but it's basically a pork shoulder. It's the front leg of the pig. I got it for I think only about a dollar a pound. Bone in. People loved it, but it was like a roasted pork, not at all like a ham. I can look up the recipe. I noticed in BTVC that we can have…

  • I can tolerate the coconut flour. We should probably start a recipe thread!
  • I have been following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) for about 6 weeks now. My goal is a clean colonoscopy in March to hopefully keep me off of immunosuppressants. If you look into that program (I hate calling it a diet because my entire lifestyle has changed) and think it's something you are interested in, please…
  • I don't have a link for it, but I really like the recipe for the almond honey crisps from the BTVC book. I use whole almond instead of breaking them down, and I love that add a sweet snack or dessert.
  • I did until I lost it. I may be looking into getting the new fitbit charge soon. If I do I will look you up on there!

  • My name is Jaime, and I was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and Crohn's Disease about 8 years ago. I have always felt largely asymptomatic regarding Crohn's. I was surprised by the diagnosis, and I have never been one to need to run to a bathroom. My yearly colonoscopies have gotten progressively worse over…
  • Best of luck to you, Heather! I haven't used the forums much, but I'm hoping this will help! ~ Jaime
  • I SUCK AT SETTING A GOAL AND ACCOMPLISHING IT! This is how I found this group. 5 lbs in April is certainly doable. But I need support and accountability. • When I do that it takes me to Map My Run and shows that I'm connected. But my 3.5 mile run yesterday did not show up in my diary as exercise. Ugh.
  • Hope you don't mind if I just kind of hop on this bandwagon with you. I love eating clean. I feel so much better when that happens. But I find the full-time work + full-time mom gig too hard to manage sometimes. So I will be super organized during the week and then blow it all on the weekends! Ugh. So frustrating. I…
  • Going into the gym to (finally) do workout B1. It's taken me since Sunday to recover!
  • Thank you for your input! Glad it's working for you!
  • Thanks, everyone. I'll have to buy some gloves! Ang - I'll fill you in...
  • My first day was yesterday, and I'd say it took me about that same amount of time. I spent a lot of time trying to make sure I was setting up correctly. My question to you is... Can you walk today?!?! I look like I'm walking around in wet pants or something, the way my stride is today. And sitting down to pee has been…
