  • I found this same issue happens with me. I keep my calories at a "maximum to lose weight" rather than how much I would need in order to lose so many pounds per week. 1800 has been my magic number. I rarely go over and find I never binge on it or have any issues. I try not to restrain myself at all, really. It just ends up…
  • Congrats on your weight loss! Ignore the people saying negative things. We all have our own sources of inspiration and yours has worked wonders for you! Keep it up!
  • *kitten* Hawks sums this up pretty well.
  • OP never even asked about the difference in sugars. OP asked about what micros were and what healthy snacks are out there. Not about "natural" vs "refined" sugars. Way to go everybody hijacking what could've been a good post. That's all I'm contributing to this pointless string of bull.
  • I feel so bad for OP.
  • I find that fruit with nuts is a huge helper. I like having a boost of protein with my snacks. On that same topic of protein, I just discovered lovely, lovely Wasa crackers. I take about two tablespoons of prepared tuna (I would highly recommend trying plain Greek yogurt instead of mayo) and spread it on. It's quick, it's…
  • I think what everybody is failing to do is stick with the actual topic posted. This argument could go on forever and ever and ever and ever and ever but the fact is, both sides are failing to look at the other and failing just as much to put any factual evidence on the board. I mean, really, it's like reading the comments…
  • You're right about that. I always beat myself up for not continuing on with my last attempt because of "where I would be now if I just stuck with it". I never considered that it had helped me to at least lose a few pounds here and there.
  • I love that quote! It's odd because it's come up just now for the third time this week. It just popped up out of nowhere but it's definitely true. Thank you so much for the support!
  • Those are all brilliant ideas. In very vigilant about calorie counting in the beginning and then after two weeks or so I just collapse into this "oh I can treat myself" attitude that end up spiraling out of control. It's terrible. I think one of the best things that has been pointed out so far has been easing myself into a…
  • Thank you so much. This truly helps a lot. Your story is inspiring and I'm definitely rooting for you and your journey. I want to get a fitbit really bad - the problem is that I just can't afford one right now. But once it's in the budget it's my first "luxury expense".
  • I think this is a big thing for me. When I eat something unhealthy or do a "cheat day" (bad idea) I tend to knock myself down and then I won't even log it. I think if I screw up I should still write down what I had.
  • This helps a lot. I've never been thin. I've pretty much been overweight my entire life. I think that goes along with my problem as well. The fact that I have no clue how good it feels to be healthy is a big deal. Plus I justify it as "I'm happily engaged and he doesn't care if I get fatter." In reality it says I don't…
  • Awesome post! I'll definitely keep the photographs in mind. I've taken some front and side photos already. I think I'll take them every 10 pounds or so. I like the "long, drawn-out" transformation picture collections. Thank you!
  • Thank you so much! They're actually Coach. I decided on a fancy brand for this newest pair because I've been wearing glasses for 10 years. Why not splurge?? They've actually been the best I've had!
  • Hi! I'll certainly add you. The more the merrier. Anybody else on this thread is certainly welcome to add me as well (: I'm 22 and I have 102 pounds to lose. It's been a journey, but a good one!
  • How much was your juicer? I've been considering juicing but I've seen people not know how to use it properly and end up doing some pseudo-liquid diet thing. It sounds like you're on the right track, though! I would love to juice for breakfast. I have barely any appetite in the morning and find it unappetizing to scarf down…
  • Hi everybody! My name is Alexis and I love sitting. It is my weakness. My weight gain followed with me through my life up to this point. I'm 21 years old and I need to lose weight not only for the joyous times ahead of me but for the joyous times later in life. I'm at 220 right now and I need to lose a lot of weight. My…
  • Hi, I'm Alexis :) I'm new to the forums, but not MFP. I've been knitting for about 2 years and crocheting for about 6 months. I live in New Hampshire and have a beautiful job working with children! I look forward to meeting you all!
  • Hey everyone! Add me! 20 years old (:
  • Bumping! Awesome ideas, guys. I love these. My fiancé and I are also in college. I usually make dinner beforehand and take it with me but now that I work as well I can't always do that. We only have school twice a week at night so we usually just have leftovers. These aides are great, though, wonderful for lunches and…
  • That's wonderful! What ages do you work with? I'll definitely add you! Maybe share some lesson plans, haha (:
