If you have a smartphone you can use the MapMyRide app and it will give you a pretty estimate. If you want better data, get a Bluetooth speed and cadence sensor, and heart rate monitor.

Conventional Wisdom states that your max heart rate is 200 - age in years. Typically you should be between 55 - 90% of max during workouts. Like I said, this is CW, not sure on validity.

Put a can of coconut milk in the fridge overnight. Next day, take it out and open it up. You should see a layer of cream on top. Scoop the cream off the top without getting any of the liquid on the bottom. Whip the cream with an electric mixer for 5 minutes or so until peaks will stand. Fold in some melted dark chocolate…

ON Gold Standard Extreme Milk Chocolate is very good as well.

I personally use Optimum Nutrition (ON) Banana Cream powder in 1% chocolate milk as a post-workout recovery drink. Chocolate milk has glutamine and arginine which are vital for muscle repair. Add in some creatine and you are golden. Just my $.03 (adjusted for inflation).

A friend at work asked me the same question after seeing all of my workouts posted on Facebook. I replied "I am training to not be a fat *kitten*."

Just say no. The hardest thing for me to give up was ice cream, but willpower and determination have kept me from indulging.

I use the Naan flat breads to make individual pizzas. Problem I have with flatout (and many other breads) is that they contain the dough conditioner L-Cysteine. I will let you google that for yourselves to see what it is made from. The thought grosses me out.

Well I recently turned 50 so I had a colonoscopy (ugghh) today. Didn't want to do it but due to my father's health issues I had to. Thankfully everything came back great.

Optimum Nutrition Banana Cream in 1% chocolate milk makes an excellent post-workout recovery drink. Their Extreme Milk Chocolate is amazing also.

If you happen to have an iPhone 4S then look into the Wahoo Fitness Blue HR. I have one and absolutely love it.

See if there is a runners world or similar store near you. Their staff are trained on how to fit you best in the right shoe for your activities.

1% milk with my breakfast cereal, at least 10 cups of water/day, and green tea with or without raw sugar. That's it, told myself no more beer or alcohol until I meet my target.

Use img instead of IMG. May need to resize the original so that the 3rd pic shows up also.

You look fantastic!!!

Always. The wife is out right now with our German Shepherd, her cell, and her LCP. I am not worried about her at all.

Great video, but for some reason my monitor wine t all blurry at the end. Will have to take it to the shop to get looked at. For another incredibly inspiring video, check out any of the Team Hoyt videos on YouTube (not weight loss related but incredibly powerful).

Just burned 1200 calories doing 18 miles on the road bike in 84 minutes. Now it is time to eat back those calories.

I have made something similar using orzo, will have to try the brown rice. Add broccoli florets and try it with balsamic vinegar and a little olive oil for dressing.
