Hey everyone! About a month ago I asked what brand of heart monitor to buy (with only a $30 budget). I bought a Pyle HRM but it did not work properly. Thus, I have come back to ask again what is the best heart rate monitor to buy that will accurately display how many calories I burn in a workout. Also, this time my budget has increased to about $60. Any suggestions?

Polar makes a high quality heart monitor. You can purchase a basic one for around $50-60. The price increases the more bells and whistles it has. :flowerforyou:
  • Are there any links for the basic Polar one? For instance, is it on Amazon.com?
  • Actually, I just found this on Amazon.com, is this one any good?

LOVE my Polar FT4. Quality product. And that is about the price you are going to find anywhere for it.

I bought a Mio at Academy. Very pleased with it, and it was under 50.00. Try it out.

I have heard good things about the Polar HRMs and it is in my price range, maybe I will get it.

I have a Polar s300x. The heart rate monitor portion is awesome. As for the gps, don't waste your money. If you're only looking for HRM I'd recommend this but if you want gps as well, Garmin might be a better bet.

yep, i just sold my ft4, and have now invested in a garmin 405cx

tbh you should think long term of what you want out of your hrm. I would consider investing in the ft7, or higher as it has virtual trainers.

I just ordered the Wahoo Fitness Blue HR for my iPhone 4S. Integrates HeartRate seamlessly with MapMyRide+, will post thoughts once it shows up if anyone is interested.

    It is $80.
