I'm in the same exact boat. Well - 4 pounds down. So frustrating at times, but inches are awesome!

Great work!!! It's great to see someone recognize the importance of inches over weight. I've only lost 4 pounds, but many, many inches!

It reminds me of when I had my first child. Everyone was telling me to do do this and do that - to the point that I wanted to scream! After awhile I figured out what worked for HER, and parenting got a lot easier. I still take parenting advice in stride, but I don't feel the need to follow all of it. Same goes with fitness…

I'm 5'9" and my goal is to go from 167 to 160. I'd love to break into the 150's, but I don't think that would be a healthy weight for me!

I pretty much eat the same as the rest of my family, just within my calories and I watch my portions. Obviously you are going to get results faster by eating "healthy" all the time, but for me this ensures "success" for the long term.

You look amazing! Take your measurements. The scale is a *kitten*! I've only lost 3 pounds, but I've dropped a size and many inches. Remember, muscle is tighter than fat (even though it weighs the same), so the scale can be tricky. Keep it up!

*3 1/2 inches in my stomach AND hips the first month (sorry, the first thing I wrote is highly unlikely to happen in ONE month!).

I've been doing Chalean Extreme. Great for "post baby bodies" because it works on buiding muscles, which eventually leads to losing fat. It's 5 days a week - 3 with hand weights and 2 cardio/stretching. I wasn't really overweight, just flabby, and I lost 3 1/2 inches in my stomach the first month.

I got them about 4 years back. I was a AA, 5'9" and about 160 pounds, so I wasn't in proportion. Now I'm a C, so barely anyone even notices because they fit my body type so well. And as for nursing, I had absolutely no issues. Nursed both my children for a year and it was fine. :) But I agree, do you research. Be sure to…

One more thing - there's a lot of "trends" on this website. Eat well - fruits, veggies, etc. You don't have to follow the newest trend to lose weight. Just try to be healthy... even if you enjoy a taste of ice cream every once in awhile!

Take baby steps. If you start out too big you're going to set yourself up to fail. You've already made some huge steps by giving up soda and joining this website. Maybe start by counting your calories and going for a short walk. Or join an exercise group. Or an exercise program. Remember, this is not an overnight thing.…

I'm doing Chalean too! 3 weeks in and I'm loving it!

I lost 20 pounds without exercising, but I think most of that was due to having 2 children who kept me busy. I am now tired and flabby with no muscle just skin! I've been working out for about 3 weeks and I can really see I difference. Much more energy, a tigher stomach, and the like. I'd recommend exercising!

Yes!!!! I'm on day 15.

Thank you for this post. I often get frustrated comparing myself to smaller girls. I don't quite fit your statistics, since I'm only 5'9", but I'm 168 pounds right now. I'd like to lose another 10, but pretty proud of making it this far! You are all awesome!

How do you like it? What day are you on?

I love chocolate too and have a SUPER sweet tooth. I'm very new to this, but so far I've tried those 100 calorie packs and trail mix with a little bit of chocolate (m & m or whatever). At this point I'm not trying to completely eliminate them from my diet, but enjoy them in bits and in moderation. Maybe start there?

Thanks! That makes me feel better considering I'm 5'9"!

Thanks everybody! I'm trying to make this a lifestyle change, not a quick diet. I think for me just getting down to 2000 is a good thing, even though I'd like to make it to 1800. Small steps, small steps.

Thank you!
