  • This is BY FAR the best way in my book too. I generally do them 20 - 30 minutes to make sure they're good and hard. It's always easy to peel them that way.
  • Oh ... and I'm 5'10" ...
  • I am 59. I'll be 60 in July. I started doing this when I was 57 and have been on MFP religiously for almost 2 years now. I lost 75 lbs in that 1st year and I've been maintaining and toning since. I'd say I as probably tighter on my weighing than maybe I needed to be and I worked out like a maniac, even with work hours that…
  • I'm too much of a techno-tard to post pictures but my husband and I have cats and a dog. The dog is an Australian Cattle Dog named Outback ... because ... as a rescue doggy ... someone found her in their field "out back" ... and since she's Australian ... well ... what else could we name her? Our *current* kitties are…
  • ^^^ THIS FOR SURE ^^^ Stick with people who *celebrate* you and *support* you, not ones that tolerate you. I'm sorry. On the other side of the coin, I saw my ex-husband (*EX* for a very good reason as you'll see) recently after losing 75 lbs. He told *me* that I now look scrawny, that I have a "chicken neck", and that I…
  • snails tripe marrow cucumber bell pepper green onions watermelon any kind of melon for that matter I have tried them all. I hate them all.
  • DVD: "Look Better Naked" by Michele Promaulayko; editor-in-chief of Women's Health with Maura Rhodes (2010) My daughter let me borrow hers.
  • I only use 5 lb weights too ... and started with just 2 1/2 lob weights ... so it's not like a huge amount ... and it could be less if you want. She gave me the weights, but you could even start by using a soup can or something like that for a lower weight. I didn't think I could do it, but she encouraged me and since she…
  • I have a DVD that my daughter gave me from I don't know when by Women's Health called "Look Better Naked". It has a strength workout and a metabolism workout. The strength one is my favorite but I do the metabolism one off and on also. The strength has really worked wonders at toning up. I have issues with my stomach area…
  • I'm almost at my goal weight of 135 (5'10" tall) with 2 lbs left. I've been firming up with light weights and strength workouts. That seems for me at least to be doing the best for me. i don't have any pictures right now but I'll see what I can get. (Oh, and by the way, I'm 58, almost 59.)
  • I do a lot of peanut butter on a slice of bread or crackers. Protein mug cakes that cook for 1 minute in the microwave are awesome too because they'll give the protein and carb boost but curb the sweets craving that I will sometimes get.
  • In my very *UNHUMBLE* opinion ... she's a drama queen and part of the lawsuit happy American culture. I had enough challenges having children myself that if the doctor felt uncomfortable with any part of my care, I'd have rather gone elsewhere. Period. ... but then that's *MY* opinion and she has her right to believe…
  • Eeek ... it's snowing in California ...
  • I'm 5'10" and started at 210. I'm now at 142. I'm aiming for 140. I'm also 58 ... so it doesn't matter how young or old you are ... you can do it when you're tall. Feel free to add me if you want motivation from someone older than most here.
  • "Look at you ... you've lost weight ... have you been TRYING to lose weight?" No ... almost 70 lbs disappeared POOF without my trying ... :ohwell: "WOW!!! Did you know you lost weight?" REALLY? I DID???? I'm SHOCKED ... I hadn't noticed ... :noway: Or the best ... by a TSA agent at the airport ... "You've lost weight! Your…
  • I've gotten that a lot. Are you losing weight because you're sick? Geez, thanks for thinking I look sickly when I'm healthier now. :grumble: I like your response. I'll steal that.
  • I live in the Sierras in California near Lake Tahoe. I am not in the part of California as shown by Hollywood and Pacific Blue, etc. I am in the mountains. I am in snow country. I live out in the sticks. I travel into Sacramento 52 miles each day to work. I am 58 years old. I have been on MFP since May 1 due to my…
  • I'm born in the US ... but I have LOADS of Irish ancestors on both sides ... although mine goes way back as they were ones that emigrated centuries ago ... but still kept up the spirit. One of these days ... I'll get to visit. Right now ... all I can *TRULY* say is ... I'm 3rd generation California born and bred. That…
  • I can eat those stupid little marshmallow peeps they have at Easter until I POP. They're disgustingly YUMMY ...
  • oh yeah ... and this too ... LOL ...
  • YUM YUM YUM ... Oh ... and barbecue potato chips ... LOL ...
  • I agree with that ... as I'm 58 ... and my husband is 43 ... and I think *HE* is hot ... and he thinks *I* am hot ... and that's all that matters. He even found me "hot" when we first met and I was 48 and he was a mere 33 ... so yeah ... you can be ... and in the past, I dated older *AND* younger men. Now I'm with…
  • OK so today will be day 10 of level 2 ... which means I start level 3 tomorrow ... and level 2 is *STILL* kicking my *kitten* ... but I will slog on. I know that I am *MUCH* stronger but still not strong enough. I'm proud of myself too because yesterday I woke up with a massive migraine and after getting it under control…

  • 30 - 35 ... now it's almost 70 ... and I've been getting "are you losing weight because you want to or because you've been ill and have health problems?" Really? Are you frickin' KIDDING ME???? LOL ... oh well ... at least they notice ...
  • Well, for all of you skeptics out there (like I was), I have been angry because, on day 6 of Level 2 (which I just completed yesterday), I hadn't had *ANY* weight loss. I thought ... geez ... why am I doing this again???? Then I took out the tape measure ... and I've lost already 2 inches in my arms, 4 inches in my thighs,…

  • That's just another method of bulimia in my maybe not-so-humble opinion. Dean Kamen is better than that. He's done a lot of things for medical science (not just the Segway). It amazes me. People have lost all sense of right and wrong any more and depend on outside things to fix all in their lives that they don't have…
