Okay, since I'm a rebel I'm going to break the one sentence stipulation and post the quote that has had the most influence on me... "“We must train from the inside out. Using our strengths to attack and nullify any weaknesses. It’s not about denying a weakness may exist but about denying its right to persist.”

^^ AWESOME!!

Wow... just wow!!! I am so glad I took the time to read through this thread and see your response to this! I am almost Hyperthyroid according to my TSH testing, but my Free T3 is very low, so I am on Armour Thyroid to help with that. Took me YEARS to find a dr who looked at the bigger picture and realized that I had…

I am always coloring my hair (highlights, low lights, and sometimes all over single color), and when I do wash it I blow dry it and straight iron it... so I try to only wash it every 3 - 4 days. Dry shampoo has been a lifesaver for me! If my hair looks really bad then I will french braid it or put it in a ponytail.

I know this is officially closed, but just in case someone can't commit or drops out, I would love to put my name on a waiting list to be added. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Thank you!

This is one of the best inspirational stories I have ever read! You are truly amazing!!

Congratulations on your hip recovery and your weight loss... and more importantly the change in your outlook! That was probably the hardest part of your journey, especially because of your injury! Very heart warming and inspiring!

While I agree with the other comments that you really can't lose 10+ pounds of fat in 10 days, and that the majority of it is probably water/fluid weight, I also think you deserve kudo's for trying something that brought you results and if you continue to eat clean and stay away from bad foods you will continue to lose…

Awesome job!

Awesome progress!!! You are a true inspiration! PS: If I can figure out how to post pictures I created a side by side before and after of one of your pics.

I've done the Eat Stop Eat method of fasting (where you basically fast 18 - 20 hours two days per week). I really enjoyed it and typically will fast from dinner one night to dinner the next night , so I technically get to eat every day, but two times a week I only eat dinner. Since hitting maintenance I haven't fasted…

I'm 119 pounds and I consistently take in 120 - 160 grams of protein each day (with a bare minimum goal of 100 grams per day). Your body can't process more than about 50 grams at each meal. There are tons of reports out there that will support or denounce everything under the sun, including…

Feel free to add me... been in maintenance mode for a month or so now.

Very interesting post. The online calculators are estimates and it really does come down to a certain amount of trial and error to find your maintenance vs. weight loss vs. weight gain calories.
-
The biggest and best switch in my thinking was to let go of the number on the scale and focus more on my body composition. Muscle takes up less space than the same weight of fat (A pound of fat and a pound of muscle both weigh a pound :-)... but a pound of muscle takes up much less space than a pound of fat). So even…

Truly inspirational! Your story brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations on your amazing success!!

Love the tips! I'm in maintenance now... and have unknowingly implemented a bunch of the tips you posted :-). I'll tell ya, "maintaining" is a whole new challenge... good thing I loooooove challenges! :-)

I've just increased my calories by 100 each week to see if it stabilizes. Right now that seems to be at 1500 calories (I'm 5'4" and my goal weight was 122 but I've gotten down to 120 trying to stabilize my weight). I also decreased the amount of cardio I have been doing to just mostly walking (but nothing high intensity).…

I tend to stay away from almost all grains and starches. Rarely I will have a slice of gluten free bread, oatmeal, or a little rice. But it's only about once a month or so. I also cut waaaaay back on potatoes. Those were not helping me lose the last few pounds I wanted. :-) I give myself one "free" meal a week to tackle…

Congrats!!! What I love about all of your pics is the beautiful grace and confidence you exude!

Thoughts and prayers going out that he is found safe.

43 years old, 3 kids, and 15 pounds down. I need to get better before and after pics, but this shows my progress.

I take New Chapter Organics One Daily for women, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, and Krill Oil (which is Omega 3's). I definitely notice a difference if I don't take them versus when I take them. The New Chapter multivitamins don't have that strong "vitamin" smell and they don't give me "vitamin" burps. It's the first one…
