  • Banks! So going to try that interval thingy in th park this weekend! Sounds painful...
  • Lol thank you all! I'm thinking water weight too as have just finished my cycle, had more sodium than usual and drank alcohol which I don't often do... Fingers crossed it'll be gone in a few days! I'm still panicking a little as I have a slight phobia of weight gain - I sometimes even have panic attacks!
  • I have been doing weight training yes, but think it'll take longer than that to gain muscle weight... Metabolism wise, I never go below 1200 calories and because of working out am usually somewhere nearer the 1700 mark, so I don't think its that... it just seems such a lot of weight in a few days!
  • I actually LIKE to run in the rain. I know, weird...:ohwell:
  • Hi! I'm new to MFP and new to the running club! I completed my 1st 10k in May, and have just signed up to run a marathon in April next year :noway: ... Anyway, that does mean I should be posting on here quite regularly!
  • looool you guys make me smile  I'm just a bit unnerved by it... at least it means I can eat more (healthy food of course, just more of it...) If I'm having to train. Leash, well done on that, seriously! Can you give me any pointers? Right now I run about 18-20 miles per week, so I should aim for 10-22 next week?…
  • I bet you notice it waaaaaay more than anyone else! Are you retaining water? Try drinking lots and cutting back on salt if you aren't already. If it is genuinely a layer of fat (and judging by your profile picture you are far from being fat!) the the best I find is cardio, particularly running, combined with abdominal…
  • Go Girl! It's a good programme, you CAN do it, and the feeling you'll get crossing the finish line is the best you'll ever get from exercise. Trust me - one 10k, and I'm hooked!
  • I suppose the issue is that because I'm small boned I feel I should weigh less...? Or maybe I just have a screwed up body image.
  • Realistic goals tend to be little and often, and not necessarily all weight based - they can be every 3kg lost, or you can set yourself a goal of drinking no soda for a month, of working out for an hour 3x weekly for a month, of being able to run 3 mile straight in a month, of eating 5 portions of fruit and veg a day for a…
  • thanks all... and i guess 22 cals is nothing anyway!
  • Oooh, I did the couch to 10k and completed the Bupa London 10k a couple of weeks ago in like 50 minutes... And I couldn't run a mile straight when I first started it! Not only do you lose weight and tone up, but it does INCREDIBLE things for your fitness - I never thought I could be this fit, EVER! Doooooooo iiiiiiiit!!!!…
  • Good luck! I'm also from the UK and so far have found that most of the foods I look up are in the directory so it has probably improved on that front since you were last here...
  • Thank you all of you! I can tell having you all there is going to be a massive inspiration!
  • Hi, yep, I'm currently 133 and want to get down to 120 - eating out is my downfall though, I do it far too often! Well done with the weight loss so far - how have you done it up until now, anything in particular?
  • Hey, I'm new too - good luck!
