Good "food" for thought (minus the pun). I may change mine to the smaller goals because 65 lbs to go is kinda big. I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the input.

I love my Visalus shakes. The best I've ever tasted. They don't have that chalky taste. You add fruit or other things to them. My favorites are blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and one I made up myself I call Cafe Mocha (cocoa, coffee, and french vanilla). I have one every day for breakfast as part of my program.…

Mmmmm looks good! Thanks for posting.

My fiance has been a weight lifter for 20+ years and is a sargeant in the armed forces. He really knows his stuff. He has trained people for all types of military situations and special forces. He highly recommends the book "Getting Stronger" by Bill Pearl. Calls it the "Bible" for weight lifting. I got it for $7 used on…

I love this thread! Now I know I'm not alone! Thank you for starting it. I really like the quote - you're always faster than the person on the couch! So true. I did my very first organized 5K run yesterday and I was 46:12. 2 full minutes faster than I had run it on my own. I walked quite a bit in that time. My friend was…

I just tried this but with feta (cannot find goat cheese here) and it's amazing! I use a balsamic marinade that I found with a Company's Coming recipe with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, basil, garlic, and lemon pepper. It's sooooo good! Here's the recipe: BALSAMIC MARINADE 1/3 cup/75 mL Olive (or cooking) oil 1/4…

Do you happen to have an iPhone? I have a cool app on my iPhone called Endomondo and it tracks your activity. I think it's available on other smartphones too. You set your profile - age, sex, height and weight then set your workout - walking, running, or whatever you happen to be doing. You press start when you begin and…

You look amazing. You can really see the difference from the side view. You are such an inspiration. Thank you for posting the pictures. As hard as it is to put them up, it helps the rest of us stay motivated. I look at pics like yours everyday on here to keep me motivated so I too can one day show my progress. Keep up the…

Thanks everyone. I'm not giving up, I will keep on keepin on and I know I will get there. I am on my way. Focussing on my first ever 5K race on Sunday. Wish me luck!

I am doing my first 5K on Sunday too. I'm not technically done the program on the app but I have fast-tracked it a bit so I will be ready by run day. I asked my "seasoned" runner friends and they said not to run every day. If you give your body some time to rest then you'll run faster on run day. My good friend is running…

I'm so happy for you! That's is my goal weight too and I can't wait to get there. One day at at time, one pound at a time...you are an inspiration.

You look amazing. Good for you! Such an inspiration.

I've lost 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks. :) :) :)

You may not be eating enough protein. I follow the Eat Clean principals which advocates for 5-6 small meals per day with a protein and carb (good carb) at each meal plus your fruits and veggies. I'm never hungry doing that. Perhaps you could try a little more protein in your daily routine. It may help. Good luck.

Wow, thank you everyone for your advice and encouragement. I went to the massage therapist today and she said that my hips/pelvis was very tight. That could have had something to do with it. She worked on it quite a bit and it feels better. I think many of you hit the nail on the head. I am training for my first 5K on…

The temp has been about the same, however, I have been trying to run during the cooler times of the day. I am eating my goal amount of calories plus some (not all) of my exercise cals. As far as allergies - I get the sneezes periodically but I don't know what from. I take half an allergy pill every day and that seems to…

Thanks for your opinion but there must be someone out there that is 5'9" and pear shaped that is at goal and could tell me their size. I will take my chances whether or not it will fit. Different people have different motivations, right? I would like to see that outfit hanging in my closet and try it on periodically so i…

I have a couple. One of my favorite NSV's is when people give me compliments that they can see the weight loss. That's better than any number on the scale for me. ALSO - I was out working with my horses yesterday and I was ground driving my mini (horse in harness with me walking behind him, no cart) when I asked him for a…
