  • @h1udd okay, I tried the milk thing. Not good. I think the flavor is just too off. Thanks for the suggestion though!
  • I literally went to Target and got the cheapest one they had; something like $15. I had a gift certificate too, so after taxes it only cost $0.75. Works just fine--I didn't need anything fancy. Best pocket change I've ever spent!

  • I have a mini one. Sort of worried about the bar gumming it up though. These bars have the consistency of a Tootsie roll.
  • I do weigh every day, in the morning before I do anything else. I like keeping track and paying mind to daily fluctuations on top of loss or maintenance over a period of time. But that's really not for everyone.
  • @h1udd I have never heard of this. Never thought about melting a candy bar with milk, nevermind trying it with a protein bar. I might give that a go...
  • I actually tried the microwave thing! Didn't work very well, haha. The taste is pretty bad, on top of the texture. I don't know if there's any salvaging them, but I'll try some of your other ideas.
  • I live far enough away that it isn't worth making the trip just for a small item return :/
  • I got a pedometer years ago because I was interested in counting my steps. Now I have a vivosmart hr, which I got for a few reasons 1) waterproof, so I can wear it in the pool 2) step counter, because I have a very active job and was curious as to how much I was moving 3) actually has a face that displays the time! I'd…
  • Thanks so much guys! I'm going to definitely go search at TJ Maxx and check out the amazon suggestions.
  • This happened a while ago, but at my old place of work, we were moving some stuff around in the back to make more room, and there was a weighted hex bar belonging to a coworker there. I didn't know what it was at the time and went to pick it up with one hand to move it. It was surprisingly heavy, but I was able to lift and…
  • I only do strength training at home and it is solely bodyweight exercise because I simply don't have room for equipment. Gains are slower probably, but I have definitely made them.
  • Eleven pull-ups in a row with no rest!! Very excited and accomplished
  • Black belt in han moo kwan tae kwon do, as well as the mixed style I used to teach! Currently training in Capoeira. Actually just got home from my 6am class and saw this thread :D
  • I can't do a full 180 unsupported for a sustained period of time, but I'm like 75-80% there? Enough so that my foot is my-own-head height. I've held this position for pictures. However, that is not a "full" front leg lift; I do cant my hips to the side (roundhouse kick position). I can kick straight up and down and…
  • @kanakapride Yeah, I am definitely a bored-binge-er. One of my biggest issues is when I'm tired. I'll eat just to avoid going to bed, which in itself is such a ridiculous cycle. Sent you a friend request!
  • Thanks for sharing your stories everyone. It's a really hard, extra challenge we all face. I sent requests to you all; hopefully we can help support each other.
  • Hey, I'm really sorry for your struggles. But it's great that you've started to talk about it and try to change. Binge eating is harmful not only physically, but mentally as well, I've found. The guilt and shame that comes with it is something I try very hard to step away from...and it doesn't always work. Seeing a…
  • I'm only looking to lose about 5 lbs. Feel free to add me!
  • @brznhabits It is definitely getting warmer, but I don't think I've been any more active? Just going for a few more walks, but I try to log that. @spiriteagle99 That's actually one of the reasons I'm worried; I haven't been gaining weight past my usual fluctuation, but I have noticed my stomach look a little squishier…
  • @kimny72 That's a good idea, looking back at my diary. I just did...and it looks like, for the most part, I'm eating the same things, just more of it. Instead of one serving of dinner, I'm having two. Instead of a little ice cream after a meal, I'm having it as a snack at some point also. 14 grams of cashews becomes 28…
  • My protein consumption isn't has high as it could be, but I've making an effort to eat more of it, especially recently. My diet is a bit more carb-heavy (oatmeal for breakfast--weighed out of course) but it's fairly balanced (lots of veggies, beans and legumes, some animal proteins). Recently there have been a lot more…
  • Nine pull-ups! Admittedly I was going really fast just to see how many I could bang out (I usually go up and down quite slowly) but still! I can do nine now. On a good day :)
  • Thank you! It's been a lot of work and I'm not yet done, but overall it works for me!
  • I use the "mild stretching" option listed under cardio for my flexibility training.
  • I don't log planking unless I'm doing it as part of an entire bodyweight workout. Logging two minutes of exercise doesn't seem worth the bother to me?

  • If they're plain veggies that have been frozen? Nope, not unhealthy at all! In fact, most veggies (and fruits) are flash-frozen at peak ripeness, so they are often a little ""fresher" than the ones that have been sitting out on the shelves. I buy and eat frozen, bagged veggies all the time. Very convenient, super good for…
  • This. That's how I weigh any food that I add things too. Say I'm making oatmeal. I weigh the oats, reset the scale, weigh my cocoa (favorite additive!), reset the scale, set it to ml and weigh my milk, etc. Funnily enough, I found out that I was underestimating a lot of my "liquids" (milk, peanut butter), though I was…
  • Do you remember any of your warms-ups/stretches/strength workouts from when you were a dancer? There's no reason why that wouldn't be a good place to start, as long as you account for the fact that you've been out of the game for a while and don't try to do too much too soon.
  • Fellow aerialist here, and I know what you mean about sitting and listening to instructors, especially when you're just starting out. I count warm-ups as calisthenics since I'm usually doing those straight, and round down from class time. If my class is an hour and a half, I time how long I've done the warm up and count…
  • @papercut2k I literally factored in time in the morning to "be sad" before getting up out of bed. Then it's up, morning routine, stretches, and bathing suit on to go to the pool. I've managed Monday and Wednesday so far this week, and I think I'm going to try to stick to both those days, instead of just Monday like I…
