Macros works for me better - it makes me more aware of the nutritional content of specific foods and their "value" in terms of using calories for that day. If I'm going to "spend" my calories, I want it to be something that will bring me in close to my protein, fiber and calcium macros and ideally below the fat macro…

No, it does not help with weight loss. The purpose of the blood test to determine your level needed to even out your hormone levels is to ensure your body is receiving sufficient amounts of the hormone, not more than what is needed. It took a year for me to finally get to the correct dosage so as tbethann22 notes, it may…

Love my fitbit! I'd be lost without it.

Agree with RodaRose. I am the same way - I can walk past chips, crackers, anything salty but love, love, love anything sweet. I had to go cold turkey and not have any sugar (I was drinking Mountain Dew at least once a day for years). I found that by giving it up completely for a short period of time and then slowly…

LOVE the show!!! Just discovered it about a year ago so we watch it on Netflix. We're about halfway thru Season 3.

I think you will b winning our match too... =( Although I may demand a rematch 6 months from now. LOL

Agreed. I have some health issues and my physician did the math and calculated that my daily need is actually closer to 1100. There is no "one size fits all" based on many different factors including health issues, height, etc.

Tactfully stated. =)

I am going to start this week so if you have food ideas/recipes, please friend me! Looking forward to trying this and see if it can break my plateau!

This. I haven't ever tried frozen pineapple but will certainly do so - that sounds wonderful! I freeze a lot of my fruit to avoid it going bad before it gets eaten and purchase a lot of frozen fruit to use in my spinach smoothies in the morning (3 cup spinach, 1-2 cups fruit). Add some protein powder and you have a great…

Thank you everyone! I think I will talk to my husband about looking further into this. Appreciate all the input.

drink your quotient of water each day apples (good for fiber) string cheese oatmeal I eat 2 egg whites on either flat bread or some other type of lower calorie bread with a slide of reduced fat cheese or salsa. But apples are my favorite to stay full.

Well, that explains the request from HR to meet tomorrow...

Nope - do you have other fun recipes? =) I'm going to have to try this - this and the 2 ingredient cupcakes are going to be my new favorites for dessert!

Bump for future reference

Feel free to add me. MFP set my calorie need at 1200 - my doctor calculated it more like 900-1000 but I'm typically closer to 1200 or slightly over. (I'm petite and work at a sedentary job - so yes, my doctor calculated my calorie need correctly).

I had never heard of this until another parent explained that this is an app mostly used for kids (and sometimes adults) sending compromising pics or sexting and most people feel comfortable that because the message "disappears" in seconds that it's not traceable. As we all know, anything on the internet or sent digitally…

Necessary for me...don't consider it obsessive at all. For me it helps ensure that my portion sizes are accurate.

Isn't seaweed supposed to be super healthy? Where do you find this?

For my dh, the only dog is a yellow male lab so when our lab passed away 3 years ago, there was no question that we would eventually get another dog - same breed. Totally different experience this time for him since he is now married and has kids. He is finding that his fearless hunting dog is also pretty happy to be part…

I have the Fitbit Ultra and absolutely love it. Feel free to add me either on mfp or the Fitbit site.

Will there be a challenge in October? I've been looking for one to join again. Have to get back on track.

Bump to look up videos later

Don't worry about the haters. Eat healthy and aim to lose slow but steady. This will help avoid the problem you are worried about. You are young and so produce lots of collagen to keep your skin elastic and assuming you don't attempt to lose huge amounts quickly, your skin should be OK.

I do... 436 days in a row so far. I need to consistently log to hold myself accountable.

Yes, yes! Agreed. LOL
