I definitely wouldn't say obese at all. As others have said BMI doesn't take into account very much. A good motivator & jumping off point, but I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like you are already working on it!

I would definitely say up your calories. If you were not working out 1200 might be okay, but with you working out you definitely need more calories than that.

1600 is extremely low. As others have said, unless you are not exercising that is defiitely not too much. I have 1325 limit, but I am not counting my exerrcise & I am a female at 5'2".
