For me, my motivation is buying a swimsuit and feeling comfortable at a water park with my family. It has been almost 20 years since I have been to one and soon my son will walk to go. I do not want to have to say "Sweetheart, Mommy doesn't do Waterparks." Other than that, I like the endorphin rush after a workout. Yes, I…

I am shooting for 145 by the end of the year. Then re-assess from there. With as much time as I put into exercising, I hope keeping it off is easier this time. - Dani

They say slow and steady wins the race. I find that I struggle to now and again. My mfp friends are very encouraging and I love the environment here. Feel free to add. Dani

Sounds like you are on to a great start. I am also keeping my health and fitness under control. The gym and I are becoming friends and I am feeling more confident there. I go about 5 days a week and I trying to add activity into my life on a regular basis. Since I have a small son, I involve him so he also enjoys going…

Great progress. Stories like yours inspire me to better an keep it up. I, too, have sleep apnea, but with claustrophobia the cpap machine and I are not friends. I have had it for over a year and still cannot get used to the darn thing. Happy to hear about how well you are going. Congrats!! Danielle

Donna, I am with you. I talk about grams, ounces, etc. My husband comes home to hearing about what I did at the gym and how I am getting my son more involved. At some point, I hope the members of my family come around, but for now I use my MFP friends to help motivate and support me. Danielle

Best place to start is tracking what you eat, so you are aware of where you need to make changes. The app is a bit tedious at first, but you will get used to it. Be patient with yourself, first and foremost!!! Once you get the food portion under control, you will have the confidence to make changes you probably already…

I am with all of the bikini people. Planning a trip for Mexico and hope for once not to be covered from head to toe hiding my body. It is not until next Spring, so I think I have time to meet my goal!

Asked my trainer today, Me: This sucks. when do we get to the fun part? Trainer: We don't. Me: If I am not having fun, what is my incentive? Trainer: It works. At least I can fun here. Snark on.

@lifesazoo I am so with you. Getting fit is about being a better me. Some day, I want to look at my wedding photos and say, "I am so much thinner, now" That would be awesome!! You are funny.

I need color in my food. Cannot eat a turkey sandwich with white cheese & white bread. ALWAYS has to be cheddar. All white food makes me uncomfortable. :noway:

I usually work out in the morning, after I drop my son off at school. Otherwise, I get to the gym when ever I can. Lunch, evening or after dinner. Before I made it a priority, I would use any excuse not to. But now, getting fit is my priority and I do what I can to work around everything else. Good luck! Danielle

Hello and welcome. I am, also, new here. So far, I am happy with the app and it is handy to have every where. Although, I am not a vegetarian, no judgement will come from me. Wishing you much success. Cheers, Danielle

Valerie, I love your spunk. This post is awesome. I think logging cleaning as exercise, would get me to clean more. Thanks for the encouragement.

Looks good. Will have to try it. I am totally missing sweets on this high protein diet my trainer has me on. It seems to be working and I am less tired for all the exercise, then when I was eating more carbs and less protein.

Hello. I took effexor a few years ago and do not remember it effecting my weight loss or gain. I went off of it before my son was born.

Very sorry to hear about the divorce. From what I girlfriend has gone through it can be very rough. Wishing you all the best, Mandy.

Hello. My name is Danielle, 37 and I have finally gotten serious about getting healthy. Congrats to you Mandy for joining my fitness pal. I have recently started using it myself and am finding it super helpful. My trainer suggested it and after a bit of motivation, I am fully on board. It is a bit tedious at first, but I…
