  • Hahaha, I think I love you for making this comment <3
  • I don't think the problem is with logging the housework as exercise, it's the overestimation of calories that I feel concerned about - like with any exercise. As an active MFP member, I do my best to help my friends with honesty, feedback and encouragement and I do so in the most positive way that I can. It can take lot to…
  • I assume that if the actual husband doesn't like to be called "hubby" the wife won't call him that, and the ones that don't mind don't mind. I don't see what the big deal is.
  • If someone complains about a problem they're having don't be honest with them about other things they could be doing that are more productive, which could ultimately fix that problem. Bottom line: Sometimes people don't want your advice, they just want to complain. Don't play in to it.
  • Also, this. At the end of the day, all kinds of people have come here looking for different things. Some only want to add friends with the same goals as them, some want to make as many friends as possible. If it's not your bag, don't play into it. Other people's insight into the whys of requesting messages with FR doesn't…
  • I don't think it's really safe to assume that requesting a message with a friend request is self-important because I honestly don't believe it's about potential friends having to prove their worth. It's not a "pitch" really, I look at it as more of an introduction. People just feel more comfortable making friends online as…
  • Haha, that's awesome!
  • I really disagree with this, the pictures that OP has on her profile are progress images, mostly comparative, to display her fitness level and how far she's come. She's wearing gym shorts and a sports bra, not a wet hooters tshirt and knickers. There's a really, REALLY big difference. This site is about support and…
  • Thank you, and same to you! You're almost halfway there! Way to go :D <3
  • You've been a HUGE help with all of your encouragement and the fantastically good example that you set, so thank you! Haha, I LOVE that I'm developing little oblique lines <3
  • Thanks darling, I can't wait to see your progress stats. I'm sure you're killing it! <3
  • Thank you! It was pretty tough in the beginning, and when I was on holidays/after I spent the day driving I reeeeally didn't want to work out, but I was committed and it's made so much difference :)
  • Some do! You have to find the gadgets that show calories burned as well as your heart rate. Yeah, I've noticed that different equipment gives you different readings, so you'll never really be sure whether or not what you're recording is 100% accurate, but that's okay :)
  • Aw thanks. I'm going to be grinning like a loon all day haha :D
  • Thanks so much! I actually went through a week or so where I just couldn't tell whether or not I was actually making any progress, and then I compared these pictures and I felt about 100x better.
  • Hi! Congrats on getting back to it, getting into working out isn't easy at first, but I ended up enjoying it! I added it as a new exercise, and called it "the 30 day shred - level 1/2/3" because the average of calories I was burning turned out to be different for each level. It should be in the database, but if you have an…
  • The pictures came out really small, for some reason, but hopefully you can still see the difference.
  • I like to take it easier on myself and do some yoga during my period because it really helps, but honestly, I've tried doing my usual high-impact exercises when I'm on the rag and it's just incredibly unpleasant and painful. Everybody is different. Not everyone works out daily, either. Some people only work out 3-4 days a…
  • Something being "personal" to you isn't an insult, it's just a part of the human condition and it applies to anyone, anywhere who has ever needed to give advice to anyone about anything - especially when it's around such a sensitive subject as weight-loss. It's not easy, that's why a lot of people join websites like this -…
  • I wasn't being judgemental or attacking you, I was giving you advice - just the kind of advice you feel MFP members should give one another about their food choices. Oh the irony.
  • Also, being positive and commenting on what someone does RIGHT is a central part of constructive criticism. People need to feel encouraged and supported before they can listen to the cold, hard truth.
  • If someone has had a day where they eat food that isn't good for them, chances are they're already feeling guilty and beating themselves up over doing something they "shouldn't" have been doing. People make their own decisions, and sometimes people comfort eat. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with that as…
  • That being said, I honestly think you should seek the advice of a medical professional, like your local general practitioner.
  • I took a look at your food diary and the best advice I can give is for you to drink more water. Everyone else has already suggested great stuff relating to your food, but it's easy to forget that sometimes people over eat because they confuse hunger with thirst. 6,000 calories is way too high for someone who wants to lose…
  • Spinach Banana Almonds Raw Egg Protein Powder Green apple Milk (almond, skim, organic, full cream) It is AWESOME. I have it for breakfast or lunch, it's filling and really great for protein intake especially after a workout.
  • Try using a few drops of vanilla essence. A friend of mine used this trick while staying in overseas hostels that tried to save money by only serving plain greek yogurt with breakfast.
  • Don't sweat it, again, I am exactly the same when it comes to something that's really hurting me or sensitive. I honestly hope that you can find a solution, being in an unhappy situation never helps anyone :)

  • It's interesting you've chosen to focus on and misinterpret that one comment instead of any of the actual advice that I offered. I didn't say it was easy, it's not. It's really hard to do, especially if you're like me and you have inner self esteem issues that are holding you back. I wasn't attacking you. It's…

  • I had a similar problem when I was in highschool and even afterwards; it was more about my self esteem than my friends to be honest. At the end of the day people are going to do what they're going to do, it's up to you whether or not you want to stick around and let them treat you in a way you don't like. You're enabling…
