  • Thank you! I started in Corral C, I was in A the previous year for Goofy. 4:26 is a great time! It was a tough day out there for a lot of people. I had hoped for a finish time at or just under 4 hours, but having run my first trail ultra the weekend before (in 3 degree temps and snow), and running the half the day…
  • Please send me an friend request. I qualified for the MM's by doing 3 in 87 days a few years ago. I am qualified for HF's but not really interested in being a double agent at this time. Here is my upcoming race schedule as of this time: 6th Annual Run for the Plunge 5K February 2, 2014 15th Annual Kelly's Logan House…
  • Two weekends ago I ran the Phunt 50K in Elkton, MD. Starting temp was 3 degrees, we ran in snow ranging from 3 inches to about a foot in some areas. I think the temperatures got up to a balmy 21 degrees during the day before the sun started to drop and it grew colder again. It was not only my first ultra, but only my…
  • I met some nice MM's at the Disney Marathon this past weekend. I arranged the group photo before the race. I ran my 6th Goofy Challenge. The Half was 1:54 and the marathon 4:27. It was pretty hot and very humid Saturday and cooler and breezy on Sunday, but still too hot for a marathon.
  • I appreciate the friend request and accepted it. Having some MM/HF's with like mind-sets here will be fun and helpful on our journey. I am strictly in maintenance mode, having lost the weight (or most of it) before joining MFP. I am at basically the same weight I was in August 2012 (+/- 3 pounds). Watching calories and…
  • Thank you! I've run 28 Half Marathons... so I love that distance also! My only slight worry is running the Goofy Challenge at Walt Disney World the weekend after my first Ultra! I'm planning on taking the Ultra "easy" and enjoying my first time at the 31+ mile distance on single track trails.
  • I ran NYC this year after missing out on the lottery for 3 years, then Hurricane Sandy pushed me to this year. I loved it! I signed up yesterday for the lottery and hope to get in for 2014. Good luck to everyone!
  • I'm MM# 4655. I'll be running my 25th marathon this weekend at the Rehoboth Beach Seashore Marathon in Delaware. I am qualified to be a HF, but like David, I don't think I need another dues or shirt to wear. I'm a one star Maniac who will be moving up to 2 on January 4 when I run my first Ultra 50K.
  • Great job! Glad it was such a great experience for you! I hope you get your redemption and/or a shot at the Chicago Marathon. I ran the Disney World Wine & Dine Half this past Saturday evening (10 PM), just 6 days after NYC. I ran well, finishing in 1:45:23, 7:57 pace. I felt fine and was pretty much 100% recovered from…
  • I had a great race, a lot of fun too. I finished in 1:45:23, 7:57 pace. Based on my Garmin, my actual distance was 13.25. I finished 311th out of 12,143 finishers I finished 237th out of 4,094 men finishers I finished 10th in my age group (Men 50-54) out of 328 I'm really happy with my effort and the results. I thought the…
  • I bought the Hoka OneOne Tarmac shoes several months ago and at first, wasn't thrilled. However, as I trained in them and got a few long runs under my belt, I love them! I just ran the New York City Marathon in them. I finished in 3:54. I'm sold on them now and running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon at Disney World in…
  • I'm considering Pittsburgh OR Delaware (in my home town), OR both. I haven't decided yet. I've run them both, Delaware several times.
  • I'm bib #248 and I'll be in Corral A for this race! We fly out from Philadelphia this afternoon at 3:20 PM. Looking forward to the Food & Wine Festival and getting this race underway! Good to everyone running!
  • How did the NYC Marathon go for you? I am really pleased with my effort out there! I finished with a time of 3:54:59, 8:58 pace. I thought the race was amazing and the course support was unparalleled!
  • I've had calf cramps in two of my 22 marathons. I decided to try to take a supplement and it has helped. I took Hammer Endurolyte tablets before, and during, my last couple of races and I've had no issues. I am hopeful that this was the issue and that I've finally figured it out. Best of luck to you!
  • First of all, have a great time at MCM! I'm a three time runner of this awesome race ('08, '09, '10). My best of the three times is 4:10:39, which was my PR for a couple of years. I have now set a PR much faster (3:41:55). Is it possible? Sure, as you say it's up to you though. If you run a smart race, hydrate, take on…

  • The Towpath Marathon that was on my schedule was cancelled due to the government shutdown and it has been rescheduled to November 3. Unfortunately, this is the same date as the New York City Marathon.. so I cannot run it. I added a marathon in December in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Here is what my immediate future schedule looks…
  • Awesome! What a difference!
  • I'm getting a bit antsy about this one myself, but not for the miles, but due to the logistics of getting into and out of the city for the packet pick up and the race itself. Plus, this will be the largest field of runners by far.. over 45,000?!! As far as what to take/pack, take what you're used to taking on your long…
  • ONLY 12 DAYS TO GO!!! Woo Hoo!!!!
  • I've got NYC next also... then the Disney Wine & Dine Half, Philadelphia Marathon, Rehoboth Beach Marathon and then Disney's Goofy Challenge. I am also moving towards completing a Tri in the future. I just need to work on my swimming! I have a Cannondale CAAD-8 road bike that is great! I've logged the following miles (and…
  • Thank you very much! NYC will be my 23rd marathon, I've also run 28 half marathons since I started running in 2001. It would be great to meet you in NYC, but the chances of that will be slim since there will be thousands of others there with us. Let's keep in touch here and share our corral/color placements once they are…
  • I am running NYC! I had been in the lottery in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 would have been my guaranteed entry year... then Sandy came along. So, I deferred. That brings us to November 3, 2013. I am ready and plan to stay with a friend in South Salem, NY prior to the race, then we are taking a bus to the NY Public Library…
  • Well done gentlemen!
  • I'm running the ToT 10 Miler this year. I ran the Inaugural ToT 13K, way back when. Hope to see some of you there!
  • I completed the Lehigh Valley Health Via marathon yesterday in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was my 22nd marathon overall. I finished in 3:48:49, 8:44 pace. It was my 4th marathon of 2013! It was a tough course, although not a huge elevation change overall. I burned 3,671 calories during the run! I'm building towards a BQ…
