Protein consumption replacing whole grains, fruits and vegetables in a low fiber diet may cause problems for the GI tract.. that is general knowledge I thought. Bodybuilders tend to do this exact type of diet. I also must correct myself, Lesnar didn't have diverticulitis.. he had diverticulosis

They're not horrible per say, but they are empty calories if someone is a calorie counter. For me, I try to stay away from all starch sorts, diet or not.

paleo mexican food= grilled chicken or beef with cheese, guacamole, and peppers/onions calorie counters: grilled chicken breasts, salsa/pico de gallo, peppers, tapatio, black beans tortillas are a no go in all diets.

Try dropping your carbs and increasing your protein for a week. This will break your plateau.

With as much lifting as you do, I'd highly suggest a paleo type diet.. eating more carbs might fill you up for an hour or so, but that's about it. You need lots of natural proteins and greens.

If you just eat the calories you burned off, you will most likely not lose weight or gain weight.
