  • I zipped up a skirt yesterday which used to fit me, just, and would feel quite tight and uncomfortable by the end of the day. Yesterday I zipped it up, tucked in my shirt and off I went to work, no marks, no pain nothing!! It didnt feel tight at all. I've also managed to skip on desert when I was out for dinner the other…
  • This is a very interestesting topic. One which is very close to my own heart. I will open by saying that I am not obese or massively overweight, its vanity lbs I want to loose. I've also never been the "fat kid" in school or the last one to be picked for gym class. I am 27 years of age and clearly remember my school days…
  • This also may be unpopular, but where do you do your yoga and your pilates? I have never been an advocate of these thigns for "weight loss" as a standalone class. You need cardio and strength work in your life sweetie, more than you need to be able to do downward dog. As you have a large number of processed foods in your…
  • I have the thigh/butt issue. My waist is slim, my butt/thighs not so much. I'm also only 5ft3ins so I look sooo out of proportion. However when I got measured last week I'd lost 1cm from my thigh... 1 cm! Its coming down.... slowly
  • I live in Scotland. Its either wet, cold, cold and wet, dark, snowing, snowing cold and dark, or really darm busy because its the Festival season in Edinburgh and the pavements are slammed with tourists. Also, my thighs (tops of, and *kitten*) are a bit large so move around alot and im a bit concious of it.
  • I dont like it, but I've learned to like what I have to do. I hate running, but its the only thing that ( for me) burns the cals and gets results quickly. So I like it because of those benefits. I hate lifting, but its something that I have to do to get the "tight" results that I'm looking for. So I like it. But I hate…
  • I'm in the place you are right now. People look at me and say "oh you dont need to loose weight" but I'm overweight for my height and I'm clearly out of proportion (I'm quite short). Some people have been quite rude and some have even suggested that the reason I'm not changing shape is because I am ... wait for it....…
  • For me, if I dont drink water I end up really tired and unwell. Even if I drink half water and half juice I still end up a bit "fizzy" in the head. I just keep a 75cl bottle on my desk and aim to have to refil that every 40 - 60mins.
  • I have a 6 day per week programme and I am in the gym for around 40 mins. I tend to go in, get it done and go. The only time I am longer is when I have the 60 min crossfit class and thats either a Tuesday or Saturday. My workout schedule is: Monday - 30mins personal training Tuesday - Either 40 mins straight…
  • My little success seems very minor in comparison to some here! I am 5ft 3, 149lbs (GW 130). This week I : legpressed 80kg x 18/16/12 Chest press 20 x 12/12/12 I've only really started lifting in the last 4 weeks, and have started crossfit to increase my strength. I can even do 1 full body weight pull up (just 1.... but I'm…
  • one of my favourties is butternut squash and red onion bake. get some cubed butternut squash, 1 red onion (diced), spinach and some low fat greek salad cheese. cook the butternut squash and the onion in an oven proof dish for around 20mins at 180 (fan assisted UK) until the squash is soft and onions are soft and slightly…
  • This would really handy for me know as I'm actually allergic to egg so most healthy "go to" breakfasts contain egg.
  • I'm in exactly the same boat, office job included!!! Feel free to add me.
  • Fantastic!!!! Well done you :)
  • First of all. Rude. Secondly. Did i mention anywhere that I do not eat back any of my exercise calories if I'm working out that day? Because I do. 1200 is my base number to start from. Like today I burned around 400 cals so I will eat around 1500/1600 cals today, but tomorrow if I dont train I will eat 1200. Not that I…
  • I have a daily limit set by my personal trainer and dietician at 1200 cals per day, so far this has worked for me for the goals that I am trying to achieve. Some people my find that 1200 is "wrong" or doesnt work for them, however each person is different and I feel that your comment isn't particulary useful until you…

  • Hi Brett Im 27 and know exactly what you mean about the weight creeping on once you start that desk job just after college! Feel free to add me, my diary is open and I put up blogs about general thoughts and everyday situations. Kirsty
  • Thanks for the replys :-). My sodium has increased slightly over the past few days a I've been craving salty foods, it's something I have been aware of and have been trying to lower. I think I'll also try to increase my fibre as I didn't even think that could help!!
  • You can totally tell, especially around your face! Well done, you look fantastic and I bet you are feeling so much better for keeping up the new routine! Keep it up :0)
  • I'm joining the red face club! I can go from "pale and interesting" to "someone forgot the sun cream" in around 7mins of running. I also get a flush down my neck and onto my chest, thats worse when I'm exclusively weight training!!

  • Interesting discussion.... The way I see it, if this is pushing more "larger" people to get active and get to the gym then I fully support it, assuming the right supports are in place for their specific client base. I would hope that as part of that gym's service to their client, they will employ staff who have experience…
  • What an amazing change, you look fantastic!!
  • Hi Mike. Hope you don't mind if I add you :-) I'm just a few days into this and trying to build a support network of like minded people!! Huge respect to you as a former marine, and just as much respect for having the courage to come here and start making the changes! Kirsty
