  • Regina Spektor ... I found a wallet
  • Good luck Mel! I've been there and I know you can do it and live a healthier life. Your kids will reap the benefits too! Feel free to add me to help encourage you!
  • That is my goal also! I'm really just struggling to not gain weight and lose the couple pounds I've gained over the year. I just got married and my husband loves to cook and order pizza so I'm really struggling to control my portions, eat healthy and exercise more to balance. I need encouragement!
  • What to go!! You look FANTASTIC!!
  • For Christmas my Rottweiler got a set of doggie steps so she can get on the bed without me boosting her back end up. Sigh ..... yes, I've turned into THAT type of person.
  • I have an ad for custom sewing labels. Must be because I look at quilting blogs. At least it's not the old, wrinkly dancing woman with belly flab. Ugghhhhhhh...... That one makes me want to SCREAM!
  • Perez can you take some sneakers to work with you and take a brisk walk during your lunch time? Or two short walks during breaks? A girl I work with has five pound weights under her desk and she does arm exercises once a day. Maybe you can fit in some small bursts of workouts during the day. I work all day and am tired at…
  • I love getting the kids involved! What a great example and it gives you some nice time together. My boys are older but they still like to go for walks with me when I take our dog. She's getting old (sniff, sniff) so our walks have turned into slow, meandering trudges with lots of smell breaks. Not such great exercise…

  • Now that the holiday weekend is over I'm starting this morning. We had company and lots of lunches, dinners, happy hours, etc but all is back to normal this morning. I'm dedicating myself anew this morning and am looking forward to three weeks of practically perfect eating and exercising. My plan is to not go over my…
  • Three weeks is so do-able! Sometimes it' so discouraging for me to think of weight control as a "the rest of my life" thing that I like to set little goals and challenges for myself when I need a boost. I lost a lot of weight about eight years ago through weight watchers and have managed to keep most of it off until lately…
  • I have a rottie and walking her regularly used to be a huge part of my exercise program. We'd go almost everyday for an hour and I'm lucky that we have two local places to walk where I can have her off leash. She is eight now and has slowed down considerably recently. Our daily walks have turned into slow, meandering…
  • Hi Lori, I just checked out your blog and I love all your projects. My dog is my assistant so I love finding blogs of other animal lovers. PLUS .... your quilts are fantastic. I hope your heel is healing nicely! Molly
  • Welcome Vicky! You've made some great first steps and you're on the right track. That's very important and a big move. Keep going and don't get discouraged because it's a slow process but so worth it. I'm very proud of you for taking charge and making some healthy changes.
  • I was curious about a crumb quilt too as I've never heard of them. They seem like what I call crazy quilts. Here is the answer I found by googling it: A crumb quilt is made from blocks that are made by using the smallest scraps when cutting your other quilts. I bought a box, stuffed full-full-full, of crumbs from a QB…
  • Thanks Steppingstone! I have recently finished two quilts that I need to add but it's soooooo dreary and dirty outside I can't get any pictures. I made my son a Buffalo Bills (stop laughing!) for Christmas and just finished a scrappy trip around the world baby sized. Now I'm getting ready to baste an inmprov coin quilt I…
  • Hi I'm Molly and am re-committing myself to losing a few pounds and keeping them off. I live in Western New York and have been quilting since 2009 and still have so much to learn. You can check out my quilts at my blog www.baileygirl5.blogspot.com. I'd love to get some friends with the same goals .... weight loss and…
  • Hi there! I've been using myfitnesspal for almost a year now but have slacked off over the holidays and ... well ... since it's now the end of February (!!) I decided to get back into it faithfully. I've been quilting since 2009 and have quickly become addicted. I started hand quilting last January which I LOVE but it has…
