I have known people who continued to gain weight throughout their lifetime and a few who have lost weight and kept it off. Thing is, it seems that if losing weight were as simple as drinking apple cider vinegar, no one would be fat. So, I'm gonna say no, it doesn't help.

The USDA has produced a "Nutritive Value of Foods" document. I have a pdf of it on my computer. It covers darn near everything, at least generically. And it's certainly printable if not available in paper for purchase. It was free when I downloaded it from USDA.

The lack of sleep makes it harder to find motivation and simply harder to lose weight. That is at least one element in the scenario.
