  • Thanks. Bit depressing that you don't burn more when it feels so much harder in the heat!!
  • Well done! I always walk alone, and tend to walk in the same areas, so it is sometimes hard to measure my increasing fitness. I think it is important to take note when we can though!
  • Thanks very much, both of you. That all makes sense. I will up my calories a little and see if that helps.
  • Thanks everyone. I am just going to chalk this one down to experience and have a loooong walk tomorrow!! At least I really enjoyed the meal, and it was brilliantly cooked. It would be terrible to 'spend' all those calories on food you didn't really enjoy!
  • Hi, at the moment I am set to eat 1310 calories. When you have lost weight, do they put your calories allowed down?
  • I like the sound of this!
  • 115lbs would bring you to a BMI of 19.7 - the low end of normal weight. Seems rather low to me.
  • AnnyaSB, I have found a nearby Nordic walking class and am going for a taster session tomorrow. How do record your exercise on MFP as when I looked it up it isn't included in their list of exercises?
  • I have been going on walking in the rain, unless it's torrential. Well if I didn't I would never get out!! I feel tempted, but a bit nervous of the Nordic walking as I am afraid I won't be able to keep up. The class does say it's for beginners so I may take the plunge! The bits you describe certainly need toning.…
  • My first NSV - I am wearing a pair of jeans that I haven't fitted into for at least a year. I still have a long way to go but this really is a very encouraging step on the way!!
  • I am confused too, and would appreciate advice. The more I read about BMR's and TDEE's the more confused I get. Please could someone sort me out! The facts are - Female Age -51 SW - 231lbs MFP = daily calories - 1310 Exercise about 350-400 calories 3-4 times a week According to Scooby - BMR -1697, TDEE - 2631,…
  • Thanks both. I won't worry!
  • A protein question is exactly the one I came on to ask. I hope it doesn't cause an argument. I joined MFP a week ago and have been getting on ok except I am finding it hard to stay within the protein level suggested. I am over by between 3 and 6 per day. I am ok on the other things - carbs etc... Should I worry about the…
  • Thanks everyone, tht's really helpful. I have old shoes so I will buy some more tomorrow, and I must get in the habit of stretching well.
  • Thanks everybody. You have confirmed what I thought. ie. that I won't include 'normal' everyday things.
