Ottawa here. Feel free to add me. I would love to have more friends in this area. I just moved to Ottawa last summer from Cranbrook, BC (SE corner). I miss the mountains but not the winter driving. :)

I find it too thick and has a strange texture compared to other yogurts. I can't stand the plain yogurt. I found one that I like though; Oikos Key Lime. I use it as a fruit dip and it's not too bad.

Last fall I had some guy who was walking behind me on the sidewalk tell me how beautiful he thought my red hair was. I was actually glad that I had reached the coffee shop I was walking to because I did think it was rather creepy. I said thank you but I was still uncomfortable about it. He was one of the homeless guys who…

Having a dog to walk could get you motivated to walk more. If you are short on cash, maybe you could hire yourself out as a dog walker. One step at a time though. Start with shorter times, find an interesting place to walk, go on a long shopping spree but don't buy anything. Some of those stores out there are huge and you…

Great job! Good for you for kicking butt and getting your life back on track. :)

I had a bunch of spinach that I sauteed in grape seed oil, sprinkled them with a bit of italian seasoning then added some balsamic vinegar. I also sauteed avocado with it but that adds more calories.

Thanks for that information. That explains why I feel so weak in the mornings when I've had a bad sleep.

Congrats on your first time pumping iron. I agree that #4 is very important. I've seen too many "experienced" lifters swinging away like monkeys. Not only is it bad form, but it's hard on your joints too. High reps, low weights build endurance but low reps (under 10) with the heaviest weight you can manage, builds strength.

You can also freeze fresh herbs. My mother in law does it with parsley and dill. You can chop the up before or after freezing. http://www.bhg.com/recipes/how-to/food-storage-safety/freezing-herbs/

That doesn't sound too good. It's not as hot in Ottawa this week as it was last week but still a bit to hot for this relocated British Columbian. Moved here from the mountains because I got sick of the long drawn out winter last year.

South of Ottawa here. So I guess we are neighbours! I was in Gatineau last week picking up some weights that I found on Kijiji. :)

I only managed 5 standard pushups. Can't believe how weak my shoulders have become. So that puts me at level 1.

Anything where I have to translate what letters and numbers mean. I prefer full sentences with punctuation. This includes facebook replies and chat windows.

Nope because it's 36 kms to town along the busy 401 highway. I ride my bike along my quiet country road though.

Good job! My personal favorite tricep exercises are kickbacks, overhead extension (with dumbell) and dips. Good luck. :)

As someone who lived with someone like this, I agree. I don't know what your laws are like but when I tried to get a restraining order on my ex after he threatened to shoot me and the kids, the police told me that they couldn't do anything until he actually did something physically to me. Makes a whole lot of sense after…

I passed and I'm 47. :)

I have 4 kids; 2 girls, 2 boys. My body bounced back better after the first 2 than the last 2 though. My oldest will be 27 this year and my youngest just turned 10.

I've been slacking off for the last three days as I've had a killer migraine and just couldn't push myself past the pain. I'll be back at it with a vengeance tomorrow though.

Sounds like a good routine, McBully. It sounds similar to what I'm aiming for except for the shrugs. I don't really want to build up those muscles. I want to make a pull up bar for my workout area in my garage. I'm sure my rafters can hold my weight. Good luck with the wrestling!

This one for my first husband, except I didn't have to kill him; he did it himself. Second one: Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life

I would feel too self concious because I am very uncoordinated. I would be at least 4 moves behind everyone else. I know this because I can't follow along on fitness DVD's either. Always have to pause and rewind... :embarassed:

Levi's Signature bootcut jeans are my favorite. Then my old Brody jeans.

I love honey and have it with peanut butter on toast quite often.

I totally agree with everything you've said. I weigh 125 pounds and at 5'5" that should be a good weight for me. I've been 125 pounds give or take a couple all of my adult life, however, lately I've noticed the fat accumulating due to my desk job and basically inactive lifestyle. I wouldn't consider myself fit anymore…

I don't have the funds to join an airconditioned gym and my uninsulated garage where I have my weights set up is very hot. I've been working out earlier in the morning or waiting until the sun goes down in the evening. The last two days I haven't done anything though because I have a migraine so bad it hurts to even move.

Single for the first time in a very long time. I wouldn't even know how to date so I imagine that I'll stay single for a very long time...

Yes, I've been a fan since it first aired on TV a few years ago. One of my favorite Canadian shows! :)
