Thanks guys - I thought HRMs were supposed to be the most accurate though? If your heart rate increases (whatever the cause) aren't you then burning more calories?

Far and away my most satisfying low-cal snack is Asda SmartPrice crumpets. Only 65 calories and really fill you up. Tesco Value are very good too, but 75 cals each, so I prefer Asda. Top with some low fat cream cheese for the ultimate satisfying guilt-free nibble!

I'll be interested to see how much you lose. Let us know!

You look like a totally different person - I guess that's because you ARE a totally different person now. Those pictures represent many hours of hard work, and many tough choices, ups and downs. We are all proud of you!

Well done indeed. You have lost fat and retained a beautifully shaped figure. Thats a win in my book.

Hey Lisa, thanks for your kind offer. I will find out which terminal I'll be coming into and message you. x

THANK YOU everyone for your replies, especially Emaren for making that call for me, I really appreciate it. I'm not on expenses unfortunately so am looking for a cheap option, but quite daunted by the prospect of a 12 hour flight followed by negotiating public transport with luggage in a foreign land! So a taxi may turn…

Right back atcha. I love my food, and don't really mind the weight/shape I am now, so motivating myself to lose those last few pounds is tough. I know from past experience that I will end up with nothing 'up top' if I lose too much more, so pass the chips and I'll try and direct them to the boob area! I guess I'm seeing…

I think the food logging tools available here will really help you to become more aware of what you're eating, and inspire you to be more in control of your intake. And it's fun too! Welcome on board.

Welcome to the site! My recent weight loss success is entirely down to the fun and support I've had from MFP (I suppose I did put in some effort too lol) so I'd love to help you achieve your goals too. Please feel free to add me as a friend!

I've lost 18 guinea pigs and a tray of krispy kreme donuts. How careless! Now where did I put those donuts.....?

A friend of mine has worked very hard at WW and lost 4 stone (56 lbs) so far. She is loving it and I applaud her success. But me, I'm a control freak. I know that for me the points system is too vague - I want to know EXACTLY how many calories I'm eating, and then I know I have to lose weight. Added to that, the MFP…

Thanks everyone for your positive comments - they mean a lot!

I'm essentially a lazy person who likes food, so I'm not a nutter at the gym or anything like that - I try and go for walks mainly as my exercise, and apart from that I can only put success down to logging all my food on MFP. I quite enjoy the challenge of seeing what I can get with my calories each day!

This is more a before and during, than a before and after, as I'm not quite where I want to be yet. I started at 170lbs and am currently 137...

That's one of the most amazing transformations I've seen here. You look like you could be your own daughter! Amazeballs.

Can't figure out how to post the link as an image :-(

How did you do that Zyntx? What did you do that I didn't do?
-
Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhh! It's all big and scary!! But thanks ;-)

Hot & sexy? I'm working on it....

I couldn't agree more - however the ad says that for every 2lbs you lose on your own, Adios will help you lose one more. Perhaps I'll try them out and report back! They are natural/herbal in any case, so can't do any harm... :)

I think a 'cheat' day (don't really like calling it that) is necessary for my sanity, and also to keep my body guessing. If I regulate my calorie intake to the same level (give or take a few) for several weeks, my body gets used to it and slows down the burn. By having a takeaway (or whatever) once in a while, my…

I never notice my fitbit saying anything to me!!! I feel very left out. :-( on the odd occasion any sort of message appears, its only displayed for about 3 secs so unless I'm staring at it 24/7 I don't know how I'm likely to get any love at all from it. Snot fair!

That must've been really frustrating for you. I do believe that different scales weigh differently, even though they are correctly calibrated. It's got to be best to weigh yourself on the same scales at the same time on the same day each week. Could other factors also be at play? Time of the month/water retention? Heavier…

Thanks for that

Thank you for your response. I think I'm just having an emotional dip. :-/

It's very frustrating when you feel you're doing everything right and not seeing results. If you make your food diary public, I'm sure you will get lots of constructive advice if the problem lies there. I know from my own experience that it's good to miix things up and keep your body guessing. Exercise is also good for…

I am a Norfolk Dumpling! On the coast in Gorleston, trying to avoid the scrummy chips and donuts :-s

Thanks for all the encouraging responses! I feel much more confident about banking calories now, and less scared of the dreaded Starvation Mode!

You have said that it's not that you don't know WHAT to do, or HOW to do it, you just find it mentally difficult to stick to. I wonder if maybe some kind of talking therapy would help you to explore the reasons why you sometimes overeat, and whether food represents an emotional issue for you? I'm sure with enough…
