That is just awesome and you look fabulous!!

I absolutely ditto what she said!! I have never received compliments about how I look until I started losing weight. It is so nice to hear people say nice things about me. That is what keeps you going. It'll happen. One day at a time. Can you afford a personal trainer? I see that a lot of trainers are now doing small…

Why would you do that?

I add 1/4 cup blueberries and some grape nuts (for crunchiness). Also add 1 packet of sweetner.

Wow - congratuations! You look great!

My story is so similar to yours it's scary. I had previously ran 3 half marathons, all awful times. I convinced myself I could do it although I knew I wasn't really ready. I ran all 3 of them, did terrible times but then in July of this year, I had had it. I was 30 pounds overweight, drank a lot of wine, felt sluggish,…

you need to eat to lose weight!! Watch your sugar, too.

what does "bump" mean?

Wow - way to go. Such an accomplishment! I had run 3 previous half marathons before I got serious about losing weight and MFP. I have had a personal trainer for the past 3 1/2 months and lost close to 25 pounds. I am in the best shape I've been in for as long as I can remember. Last month, I ran my fourth marathon and…

I did my first half marathon a few years back and the most we ever ran during training was 8 miles. After 8 miles, it's a mental thing. You have come that far, mile-wise, that you will finish - no doubt!! Good luck!!

Start running! It'll get you out of your house and away from your mom! Put on some really motivating music and go for it. I NEVER thought I would say I like running but I am doing my 4th half marathon Saturday and can honestly say I am looking forward to it!! You burn a ton of calories and it is probably the most…

Yes - you do wear a chest strap but I don't even know it's on.

I also use the Polar one and like it.

You might not be eating enough!

well, I guess we can always use a friend. This is a great way to lose weight. When I track, I lose. Lost, almost immediately, (well like 3 weeks), 10 lbs. I find that when I get lazy and don't track my calories, that is when I gain. So, good luck! I am wating to get a smart phone so I can put the app on my phone! I had a…

I agree - I don't think she was looking to be judgemental - just had a pet peeve to get off her chest. Some people just like to stir the pot.

that is great!! Comes out to about 1 lb. a week, right? I always say - "you didn't put it on overnight so it's not coming off overnight." Slow and steady....
-
..I assume you listen to music or watch TV on the treadmill? That really helps cuz it's so BORING!!

We all need support so I will be there for you! I am so excited about this b/c the lightbulb has finally gone off for me that you shouldn't be starving yourself and need to eat the right amount of calories per day. I have already lost 5 lbs since I started this 6 days ago. I am also hypothyroid so by not eating right and…

I have been doing it for about 9 months and just love it!! We haven't done the same WOD (Workout of the Day) twice and I have always been able to finish the WOD. I am usually the oldest one in the group (52) but you scale each workout to suite what you can do (if you can't do pull ups - which most of us can't, you use a…

I was wondering the same thing. I searched the "Exercise" tab and found "aerobic, high impact" and put in 45 minutes and it burned 436 calories. I don't know if that is a true amount of calories burned. I will ask our coach tonight if she thinks that is realistic.

I LOVE CROSSFIT!!!
-
I do CrossFit and had the same feeling - scared me to death!! Start out with the lowest height (mine was 16") and stand as close as you can - I know that doesn't seem to make sense - but it works. I had the same feeling in my stomach - and yes, it's a mental thing - but once you do it once, it really helps and gives you…
