  • Is it your first week on a new plan? If so it may be water weight. A lot of people starting a new plan lose a lot the first week, but then nothing the next so don't be discouraged if this happens to you. Other things maybe, for example, when I was losing a lot of weight some weeks I would lose 4-5lbs because as you lose…

  • Rest days are good, hell, rest weeks are good sometimes. Trying to be perfect all the time is what causes people to fail.

  • This for me. If someone is genuinely interested then of course I will talk about it, but most people become bored because they have no desire to put the effort in (yet). It's the same things with a smoker and an ex-smoker, the smoker really doesn't want to hear about the ex-smokers sucess in giving up, it just makes them…

  • Drinking water is supposed to relieve hunger pangs as hunger/thirst pangs can be confused with each other.
  • Long hair just seems more feminine, even if it is in a ponytail or up, can't say I care that much though, as long as it's not a complete disaster.
  • I think the problem for a lot of people is the hidden sodium in processed foods. Adding a bit of seasoning to meat shouldn't be that much of a problem.
  • One thing that actually does help is buying a kitchen scale and weighing your food. People are often surprised at what constitutes a portion of something, especially something like a bowl of cereal for example.
  • Tell the truth I just think your body is crying out for more calories. My brother's first born suffered from colic for example, and he lost a stone just getting up and walking with his son. New born's are hard, tiring work and you may be burning off way more calories than you think taking care of your child.
  • I weigh in daily because it's an education is weight loss. So many fluctuations it's unreal. But I expect them now. Do I feel bloated? Was I drinking the night before? How much sodium did I have the day before? How much exercise did I do the day before? These factors can all cause you to retain water. But I only weigh in…
  • I've gone from not being able to run to being able to run 10k easily in about four months. Maybe I could have done more if I really pushed myself so I definitely think it's possible. Plus, it's such a great motivation knowing you have that goal in sight, good luck.
  • No I don't. People say you should not weigh everyday but I think it's almost an education in itself. For example, two days ago I weighed in and I was down about 1.6lbs for the week total. Yesterday, I apparently put on 2lbs. Today I lost 2lbs. Fluctuations in weight caused by water and high sodium mean that it's impossible…
  • The truth is that he is scared of losing the status quo. I've seen it a few times in relationships, and it's not always the guy. When one of the two goes and does something positive, whether it be going back to college/uni, losing weight or even something like stopping smoking, the partner seems to act like a ****. They…
  • I've lost 53lbs so far, I seem to be getting quite lean but I still have a fairly big gut, last place to go I guess but I am only about 14lbs from my initial goal weight so I'm hoping it goes with that. The thing is, that looking in a mirror everyday, you don't see the changes happening to your body. I bet when someone you…

  • Count me in, 5lbs to healthy bmi.
  • If you can work out for 6 hours a day and limit your calorie intake to 1200 calories, you can do it too. In the real world that is not sustainable, nor I think desirable. Your skin needs time to adjust to your weight loss, losing that much in that short a time you will probably end up looking disgusting.
  • I agree it's annoying, but I feel like most people are where I was, just trying to educate themselves. The problem is that there are so many myths and psuedo science attached to weight loss that it takes time to wade through all that (mis)information. I will never condemn anyone who is actually trying to do something about…
  • Over 60% of the adult population in the UK are overweight or obese. The truth is, fat is the norm now, so people at a healthy weight are now in the minority. So yeah, jealousy.
  • I am almost in exactly the same boat as you. Started at 217, down to 166 now. Even though I know my gut has shrunk a bit, in my mind when I look in the mirror, to me, I still look fat. Well, 16lbs to go for me now so hopefully the gut will go when the weight goes or at least shrink a lot.
  • Definitely you should. I have mine set to very active (or whatever it is), I work out 6 days a week, but I work a part time bar job, and apart from that and working out, I don't do much else. Lost 61lbs in total so far.
  • The scale isn't everything. I have seen success stories here where people have actually gained weight, but looked toned and fitter from where they started. But yeah, take measurements, progress photos, anything to keep a record of the change in your bodys outward appearance. Because you see yourself everyday, you do not…
  • I did low carb for a while and I found that it broke my addiction to refined sugar. I barely eat any now. I still eat wholewheat bread, I still eat potatoes, I still eat brown rice but I don't care about sugar at all. I think there is definitely a link between obesity and high sugar diets. Low carb itself, not sure it's…
  • If you are struggling, maybe you could build up to it a bit slower. Get into a plank position but instead of holding it from your feet, hold it from your knees instead.
