Plank pain!?

Hey everyone, so I started RI30 week 2 yesterday and there is a fair amount of plank exercises, today when I woke up I was fine, but now that I'm exercising in-between my shoulder blades is KILLING me everytime I do the plank poses.
Is this normal? Will it heal after my body gets use to the plank position?
Thank you :))

I started week 2 yesterday, too! (though I've done the 30DS, as well). I can't say I've ever felt any pain between my shoulders. It might be one of two things: you're holding the stance wrong and putting some strain on your muscles, or your muscles just aren't used to holding plank and need a few days to adjust.

I saw your post when you first put it up and was hoping someone with more qualifications than me (I have zero qualifications) would answer.

Usually it's the wrists that give people trouble during plank. I've never run across the shoulder issue. Do you have an underlying shoulder problem? Were you straining/twisting your neck to watch the DVD? About the only suggestion I can think of is to make sure you keep your neck in alignment, keep your hands under your shoulders (not out to the side) and try to relax your neck and shoulders while using the strength from your core to hold the position. If this doesn't work, you may want to consider using the modification of keeping your knees down and see if that helps.

    Good luck!

Thank you a heap! I think it was because I had never done planks before, my body wasn't use to it, today wasnt as bad THANK GOD! :) I sometimes realized my arms are outside my shoulder width so I need to keep an eye on that! :)

If you are struggling, maybe you could build up to it a bit slower. Get into a plank position but instead of holding it from your feet, hold it from your knees instead.
