  • Feel free to add me, I'm not in your height bracket (I'm 5'4) but I do weigh 232 lbs...took a break from this site but now I'm getting back into it! Good luck on your journey :)
  • That's sad that your mom doesn't support you, but it sounds like you have lots of people who do! I admire your positive attitude, it's so easy to get caught up in the negativity.
  • I've been using Body Fortress Super Advanced Vanilla Whey Protein. It's the first protein powder I've tried, and I like it because I do eat protein from other sources but I never seem to eat enough, and making a smoothie with the powder really helps boost my intake.

  • Anyone can add me if you'd like, I'm 22 years old, my current weight is 214 lbs. My starting weight was 228 lbs, and my dream is to lose 100 pounds in total. In the short term I'd like to lose 40 lbs by the first day of spring.
  • Add me if you'd like, I have 80 pounds left to lose to make my goal of losing 100.
  • There are probably a lot of things...Deep down I sometimes think I will always be fat, no matter what I do. A few years ago, I bought a paper for a college class, and the prof accepted it. Today I lied and called in sick for work at my unpaid internship because I'm feeling burned out from balancing college and a part-time…
  • I recently switched to calculating my calorie goal based on my TDEE with exercise factored in, but I do still find my HRM extremely useful. It's very motivating. The model I have (the polar ft4) tells you when you're within your target heart rate, and I do still find it useful to know how many calories I burned in a…
  • One tool that you might consider using to keep motivated is the website Fitocracy. It's a social media site based on fitness, and it lets you track workouts for "points", and if you get enough points you can "level up." I just joined it about a week ago and I'm already finding I'm a lot more motivated to exercise. Best of…
  • bump! I have some squash and this sounds like a delicious way to use it
  • "Skinny" isn't really what I'm going for, I want to be fit and somewhat muscular when I reach my goal, or afterward. But I guess I can say that the only time I've ever been skinny was when I was a young child, probably from a toddler to about 4 or 5 years old. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses for myself, but…
  • I'm agnostic (well, I'm 99% sure there is no God, but I'm open to possibilities). Feel free to add me!
  • I have the polar FT4, and I really like it. If you don't mind it not having a GPS function, I'd say that it's a good HRM for the price. The chest strap is really inconspicuous underneath your clothes, and the wrist part just looks like a watch. I've had mine for a short time, but so far no problems to report!
  • I'm still pretty new, I've only been on for a little over a month now, but I'm on every day, and I've lost 12 so far! Add me if you'd like

  • Hi, I'm 22 and I really enjoy cooking, and learning how to cook my favorite foods in a new healthier way. Anyone can feel free to add me!
  • Bump for later reading...feel free to add me anyone, I am in the "eat-whatever-I-want-but-in-reasonable-portions" camp as well.
  • As a fellow full-time college student with two part-time jobs, this is definitely good advice to hear! I'm going to commit to making health and fitness a priority during the last few semesters I have before I graduate.
  • I also agree with the people who said to get rid of unnecessary things that you don't wear, don't use, that are not useful anymore. Sell them, donate them to a thrift store, give them away. Organizational containers of any kind are also wonderful, baskets, bins, totes, anything. If you have shelving space, that's also a…
  • I've lived the dorm life and now am living the apartment life. Even while I still lived at home with parents nagging me to clean my room, I struggled with clutter. It wasn't too bad in the dorm because I had to share a bedroom and thus keep all of my stuff on one side and relatively contained. When my boyfriend and I got…
  • Hi, I'm 22, I've been at this for a month now and I'm feeling really motivated! Anyone can add me if they'd like, I try to be as supportive as I can :)
  • I am currently using Monday as my "official" weigh-in day that I log my progress, even though I have been weighing myself every day.
  • My first overall goal is to lose 100 lbs, then I might decide to lose more or stay there depending on how I feel when I get there. Since starting to use MFP three weeks ago I have successfully lost 9 lbs. Once I get some of this fat off I am also looking at building more muscle, and eventually taking up running. Anyone can…
  • This was a huge motivation for me today...I am 22, and I have 91 more lbs. to lose to make my overall goal of 100 lost. You look wonderful!
  • In my past experiences with weight loss, I've tried following "diets" that ultimately didn't work and left me even more overweight and then obese than when I started the diets....I have a large weight loss goal but I want the losses to be permanent this time, even if it takes longer to get the results I want than a "diet"…
  • I had my first couple of significant NSVs just a few minutes ago...This is the second morning in a row that I have woken up early (at least my own definition of early) to go walking. And my SO told me to "keep walking because my butt is looking nice" :)
  • I'm 22, you can add me if you'd like, as can anyone else on this thread!

  • Wow, I've gotten lots of good ideas for cottage cheese...I may have to go to the grocery story and buy more! I eat it plain, but also like it with honey, fruit (pineapple is very good)...I will definitely be trying it in smoothies and with cinnamon, sounds great!
