Like the last person said, start off small and work your way up. Also, find something you love, get addicted to it, and never stop. That's what I did with running and I've been doing it for about a year now.

It's definitely addictive. Just give yourself plenty of rest days and enjoy. There's no greater feeling than finishing the last workout.

They've helped me during recovery. I got them hoping they'd help my shin splints, but I haven't found them to be beneficial there. However, they do help recovering after a run. I usually have sore calves the day after a long run. Whenever I wear the compression sleeves to bed I usually don't have a problem.

My 30 dollar pair taught me a lesson. I got a pair of Brooks for Christmas that are 125. Don't buy anything cheap. You will probably regret it.

No man should eat below 1500 cals a day. I started out at 2000 a day when I first started losing weight. Now I follow whatever MFP tells me, which is now at 1750. Google a TDEE or BMR calculator and figure out how many calories you burn and go from there. MFP usually sets up a good calorie limit for you. Find an exercise…

Try to lose 10 lbs a month for 8 months. 80 lbs in 4 months is just unrealistic unless you have some sort of surgery.

I usually just wear compression socks that say they're for running. I got a blister in between my toes on my half marathon. So now I'm putting body glide on for long runs.

The race starts at 8 and closes at 11:30... So that gives me 3 and a half hours to finish... I could careless if i'm dead last with a 3:25 time... Finishing and taking care of myself will be my only goal of the race.

I'm running about 6 miles 3 days a week. Mainly on MWF or Tues, thurs, sat.... I know I would be walking a lot. The race is in 3.5 weeks... Those fiber one chocolate bars... They have 140 calories and are pretty great when you get that late night craving. If I don't have those then there's no telling what i'd eat at night
