  • It depends. Everyone's "runner's high" is different. Mine takes longer to attain now that I have been training for over a year. I know I have hit it when I am smiling and sweaty :)
  • Dry shampoo is my friend. I use Batiste and love it!
  • Check the lacing. If that isn't it then check your feet as they are hitting pavement. Do you run on the ball and toe area? That may be the case too.
  • Do you have run? Your other cardio sounds fine. I won't say that I love running but I like the feeling when I am done. If you don't care to run then stick with your other cardio. I will say that I started with C25K and it worked well if you want to start running.
  • 1/2 cup egg beaters chopped red bell pepper (about 1/8-1/4 cup) chopped onion (about 1/8 cup) 1 1/2 tsp of fat free feta I cook the onion and pepper a bit and then add the eggbeater. When it is all done I add the feta and enjoy. Low cal and protein packed :)
  • Start over fresh tomorrow and try not to binge again. You can do this!
  • Going to try this!
  • "Try HCG, I lost lots of weight." That person did lose a lot of weight and then promptly gained it back and more. I am fine eating my high protein, high fiber foods while working out an watching you eat 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1/4 of a tomato because you can only have 500 calories a day.
  • The idea of a lifestyle change in eating is not to deny yourself foods, but to adjust the portions and be aware of your caloric intake vs. caloric outgoing. If a banana fits in, then eat one! They have great nutritional value and are a single item food. I prefer mine freckled as I know the sugars are breaking down but that…
  • I personally like to have a cheat day. It's not like I go overboard and eat an entire cake, but I just don't count calories that day. I eat what I want and until I am full. I have found that I don't go over my calories very much at all, but this is just me. I know others that will have a cheat day and they go overboard.…
  • It sounds like you will be ok. Just be careful that you don't workout too much too fast so you don't burn out. This happened to me. I was running (using the C210K app) 3 times a week, doing tae kwon do 6 hours a week and then followed up by another 3 hours of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I took Saturday and Sunday off. I burned…
  • Thank you. I like the quote and felt like I was back on it when I ran today. Pushed myself to go further longer and stuck within my calories today. I am still a bit hungry but nothing a hot cup of tea or a glass of water won't fix :)
  • I also do the "ice cream" smoothie thing. I load up my blender with frozen fruits, flax seed and a scoop of the protein powder with about 1/4-1/2 cup of almond milk. Blend until like ice cream. It almost feels sinful to have ice cream for breakfast :) I don't think you have to stick with just putting the powder in milk or…
  • I took a break from counting every little thing for about a week. I found that I was maintaining without really trying. I kept up with exercise but didn't really count calories. I didn't gain or lose that week. This week I have been watching the calories again and had a couple of days were I went over. I have lost a pound.…
  • :::Looking lovingly at my iced tea:::::: Why would you want to give this up? ;) I tried giving up caffeine once. I don't drink sodas and don't put sweetners in my tea but the caffeine is addicting. I would suggest not going cold turkey if you have been a long time caffeine drinker. I experienced severe headaches that…
  • Fantastic! I started C25K back in January and have since run 2 5K races and am training for a 10K. You will get hooked on that runner's high! Go you!
  • I think it is a personal thing. Most days I have breakfast. I don't have a huge breakfast, just something to tide me over. Maybe an egg with a 1/2 bagel or just an apple on the run. Some days I am just not hungry. I have not had rapid weight loss but it has been steady loss. I think the breakfast debate is individual. If…
  • Congrats on your twins :) I too, am a mom of twins but mine are now teens and my oldest just went to college this year, all boys. I have been on a yo-yo with my weight for the past 10 years. I would do the crash diets and lose a ton of weight then gain it all back and then some. Personally, I think recording everything I…
  • Thank you all :) I had no idea there was one here. Duh me!
  • Why would you deprive yourself? A small piece won't hurt you. It's having 10 small pieces or one large one. As long as you stay within your caloric limit you will be fine. I have found that if I deprive myself, I just want the food more and will go overboard.
  • Yes, I get migraines but mine are hormonal. They do affect my workouts and eating because I am in too much pain to work out and don't eat when I have them. I am on prescription meds but it just takes the edge off.
  • I had multiple friends do the HCG diet last year. They had great results and then promptly gained back all the weight and extra. I think diet is the wrong word. I think we should look at losing weight as a lifestyle change. It didn't pack on in one day so it won't come off that fast either.
  • Interesting. I am going to have to go with my body signs though. If I don't eat a decent breakfast (this does not mean doughnuts and coffee) then I am wanting to eat everything but the bottoms of my shoes by 10 a.m. I think if someone has a healthy breakfast then there is nothing wrong with that. If skipping a meal works…
  • I put protein powder in my morning smoothies. It works well as a breakfast for me and does a couple of other things. I tend to heal faster when I have worked out pretty hard the day before. My muscles just don't ache as much. It also keeps me from eating the rugs, paper and chair while at work until lunch :) I found that…
  • I don't track my iced tea, water or green tea. I drink a ton of liquids and don't put any sweeteners in them. I just figure that if I am using the restroom enough then I am drinking enough :)
  • Make sure you are getting a good night's sleep if at all possible. If you are looking for a pick-me-up, I have always had luck with Zip-Fizz. It is 10 calories and pumped up on B vitamins and, I think, some caffeine. I would have to check the label. It does carbonate your water a bit but not like a soda. I prefer the grape…
  • I am allotted 1400 calories a day, not including the exercise calories, and just need to drop this last 10 lbs! I will try upping the water and seeing if I can find the cleansing tea. I know once I lose these 2 lbs then the others will follow.
  • Keep trying. I have been doing C210K for a few months now. I was not a runner to begin with and spent about 2 weeks on Week 1 and then 2-3 weeks on Week 6. Just keep going with that same day until you feel comfortable enough to move on to the next day.
  • I personally crave breakfast when I get up. I am sluggish without it and don't randomly eat as much if I have breakfast. So, I would say thumbs up to breakfast.
  • Yes. I have a couple of tats. One I don't show anyone because I don't go around with my butt cheeks hanging out. Not that the tattoo isn't great, because it is, but because I don't want to gross anyone out :) My other tat is on my left shoulder and is a tribute tattoo. Love my tats and want another one.
