  • Friends call me Nessa. My parents call me Vane. My close family friends call me nena or mamita.
  • Same story here!!! I've been through the whole yo-yo dieting for years. I finally lost the weight about 40lbs and then slow just gained it all back and then some! MFP has definitely helped me stay motivated especially with all the support given and received by my MFP friends. What has helped me is ... I have a picture of…
  • Hi Gordon Albert, Welcome to MFP!!! I'm Vanessa. Your off to a great start. Having the right attitude and mind set is the first step. It sucks that your family isn't very supportive. I know that makes things difficult especially if all the wrong kinds of food are all around you. Just remember moderation. You can still lose…
  • Count me in!!! I have Insanity, Brazilian Butt Lift, and Hip Hop Abs!!!
  • Me too! I am always looking to add motivational friends to help each other in our journeys! I log in everyday and check in. Feel free to add me if you'd like!
  • Same here! I have been here a few times before but this time feels so much different. I have been logging every day and being completely honest with everything I log from food to exercise. This time is right. I have about 55lbs to lose. I have sent you a friend request. Its great to have friends to help motivate and…

  • Great attitude!!! That is your first big step in the right direction. I was the same. All my friends were smaller than me. But I am ready for a change. Its not going to be easy but with motivation and support from MFP we can do this!!! Feel free to add me if you'd like!
  • I completely understand how you feel. My solutions was to still motivate and support them b/c everyone needs help but to also get some active friends that we could equally motivate and support each other. That has definitely helped me out a lot. Feel free to add me if you'd like. I log on everyday, or at least I try too!…
  • Hello! I'm Vanessa and I am 29. I work in the healthcare field and I absolutely love it. I could definitely use some extra friends to help with this weight loss journey. MFP is wonderful, its given me the kick I need to stay determined about my goals.!Add me if you'd like!
  • No gym is needed! I also live close to the beach! Jogging on the beach is a great work out! Also yoga and pilates will definately help with flexibility, and toning. Kettle balls are awesome and very inexpensive.
  • Don't beat yourself up. We all slip up now and again. Like the person above said "baby steps" is the way to go. It definately worked for me. Whenever you slip up just make sure that you are on point the next day. This process is day by day! What helps me is I always have 100 calorie brownie bites, cookies, and chips in my…
  • Hi!!! I'm also 5'4 but I have about 55 lbs to lose. Being brutally honest is how it works for me too. Denial has taken me over far too long! LOL! I've been on the yo-yo kick for a while and just recently got back with it at full force! I like to do Zumba and I'm doing the Insanity Program ( well I'm trying to at least!…
  • Welcome to MFP!!!! My recommendation is to make sure you log everything, or at least try to, the good and the bad. It helps me stay accountable for my weight loss. Also make lots of active friends here. It makes the process a lot more enjoyable, especially to have friends that will help you with this journey and celebrate…

  • I struggle a lot wit motivation too! What helps me is I have posted a picture at work, in my car, and on the fridge of myself at my largest weight and one of my smallest weight. It helps me remember where I have been and to know that I don't want to go back and to know that it is possible to get to where I want to be…
  • I always have those 100 calorie cookies or brownie bites in stock! Whenever I get a craving (usually chocolate!) I grab a bag and have at it! Its great because I take care of the craving and its only 100 calories so I don't have to feel guilty about it!
  • Hi! I'm sorry to hear that your having some issues. I too have big hips..... I can thank my mother for that LOL! I use to have a lot of issues with it too especially since I'm only 5'4 and overweight. I have been struggling with weight and body image for a while. • Totally normal!!! I just started and I couldn't even complete the fit test. I still can't finish the DVDs but I go at my own pace. I will keep with it and hopefully I will get to a point where I can complete the whole workout. What's most important is to keep proper form and be consistent. You can do it!!!! Good Luck!
