  • Yeah, the Mudathlon is fun! I did it last year and volunteered there the year before. Since I've already done it and have the medal, I'm gonna do the Warrior Dash in September this year instead for something different.
  • I've done the Nite Ride the last 2 years. It's always a fun event. Last year, the weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect night!
  • Did L1 D1 yesterday and today I can definitely feel the muscles in my arms and butt! I had to stop 3 times during the workout because I thought I was going to pass out. I don't know how such a seemingly simple workout can kick your butt so hard. I'm excited to see the results in a few weeks!
  • I just bought the DVD today, so will be starting Day 1 tomorrow. I'm excited to start! I've got plans to run a half-marathon in May and a full marathon in November but really need to lose a good bit of weight before I can start logging a lot of miles. I am going to do the workout first thing in the morning because if I…
  • Congrats on the new road bike! I started riding last June to train for the Apple Cider Century with Team in Training too (where I met Jennydep)..Hi Jenny! I got a Specialized Dolce and have put over 2500 miles on it so far. Right now I'm training for my first triathlon and have been focusing on swimming but I need to get…
  • Ha. No, you don't see hardcore bodybuilders, but what percentage of your community are hardcore bodybuilders? The vast majority are regular people who need to lose some weight or tone up...and PF is a great place to do that. The people who go to PF, do workout (and workout hard)...because if they didn't want to workout,…
  • I'm a member...can't beat the price! I do most of my workouts on my own treadmill and bike trainer but go in to the gym for my weight training. Their equipment is great...big variety and lots of machines so you never have to wait. It's convenient, cheap, clean and gets the job done. It's not a meat market (which makes it…
  • You bet I'll be logging on Christmas day! Why wouldn't I? Do my weight loss goals change that day? Hell, no! Just because it's a holiday, doesn't give me a reason to stop working towards my goal. I will eat a nice Christmas dinner and have some treats, but I will log it and probably go ride my bike trainer later in the…
  • Want something easy? Eat another cupcake. Want to tone up or lose weight? Then get exercising. It's not easy. The key is to find an exercise that you enjoy, though. If you like to run, start out slower. If you are out of breath, you are trying to run too fast of a pace. If you like to swim, find a cute 1 piece and start…
  • I work out hard about 5-6 days a week (either swim for an hour, bike for 1-1.5 hours or do the C25K program) and sometimes it's easier to fit the time in on a weekend. I don't ever take the weekend off just for the sake of being the weekend. I always feel great after a workout, so I look forward to them! I think I may be…
  • Like another on this thread, I train with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training (TNT). They have great coaches, fun teammates and solid training plans so you can train safely and raise money for LLS at the same time. Last summer I did a half marathon and in September I did a century bike ride with them as…
  • Well, did the 3rd day of W2 and actually ran/walked more than was called for. I don't run real fast, so I wanted to finish 3.1 miles and had to go a total of 43 minutes instead of just the 30 minute program. My running portions today were at 6.0 mph which is a lot faster than normal for me. It kicked my butt, but it felt…
  • I've always heard not to trust the machines at the gym....they just aren't accurate.
  • It IS pretty pricey, but we got a half-price deal with Living Social or Groupon or one of those services. So if you are interested in doing it, watch for a special deal. Also, the company that we did it with runs specials throughout the year...so watch the website of your local skydive shop. Your first dive will be tandem…
  • Been there, done that! My husband and I went skydiving last year for our 19th anniversary. It was a lot of fun, but to be real honest, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more exciting. I was expecting that scary feeling in the pit of your stomach like when you go down a roller coaster, but there isn't that…
  • Just did W2D2....after I rode my bike for a half hour. I just got a new bike trainer today and was super excited to try it out, but I knew I had to run. So I rode AND ran. I do my weigh ins on Friday, so tonight was my "last chance workout". Hoping for a loss tomorrow! Julie
  • A few questions: Do you have an appropriate number of recommended calories? Are you using the ones calculated by MFP? Do you exercise a lot to give you extra calories and those "exercise calories" are the ones you have left over? If you are eating all of your recommended calories and just have your "exercise calories"…
  • Ok, just finished W2D1....who else did it today?
  • So is everyone on Week 2 now? I did the C25K about a year and a half ago and loved it. I'm no runner, but was amazed that I could actually progress each week and could do the longer runs. I started out using Robert Ulrich's music/cues (techno) and then found Suz's podcasts (variety of pop/hip hop) which gets me moving…
  • I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for several years now. I keep going back to the same type of idea, a variation of a stargazer lily mixed with something to represent strength but can't decide where I want to put it. I want to be able to see it easily myself, but not sure I want to show the entire world. It's going…
  • count me in too! I just started last week and am LOVING the phone app! It makes it so easy to track everything. 4 pounds down...16 to go by Christmas!
