  • I just bought some fresh Brussels sprouts not too long ago and roasted them with bacon. Put 3-4 slices on the bottom of the pan, cover with halved sprouts, and layer 3-4 slices of bacon on top... Bake at 350ish for 30-40 minutes. They were SOOOOO good! First time I've ever even eaten them.
  • I'm proud that despite going out to eat and getting fries with my meal I decided to order the grilled chicken bruschetta sandwich instead of the bacon cheeseburger. When I'm super hungry, like I was, I tend to order the higher fat options... and even convince myself an appetizer is okay. Didn't get the app and only ate 3/4…
  • You are AWESOME! Great work! You look amazing!!!
  • Hi. I see you have moved away from the original question, but I'm going to answer it anyways. I work 6p-6a in a county jail. I'm super tired right now and can't wait to hit my pillow.
  • Gosh, thank you all for the advice! I do want to say that I've been working out with some eliptical, walking, weight lifting, and 30 day shred videos... Well, that was until I had a side-lining knee injury last month. I had to take 2 weeks off completely from exercise and then I just focused on walking and swimming. I'm…
  • I can tell you from experience that no matter how many people tell you to dump him and that he doesn't deserve you, you have to realize that for yourself before you'll do it. That being said, no girl deserves to be treated like that. He needs you to be vulnerable and feel like nobody else will want you, that way you won't…
  • Today I'm proud that as hard as it was I avoided a lot of exercise and cardio for about a week (due to knee injury) and I was finally able to go for a really good walk today! Still want to do more but know that I can't quite yet.
  • Today I'm proud of my food log. I had: Lunch - Grilled chicken, Uncle Ben's long grain and wild ready rice, a smoothie (Orange, frozen berries, water) Dinner - Grilled chicken, Uncle Ben's long grain and wild ready rice Snacks - 2 oranges, Healthy Choice frozen Greek yogurt, Kashi banana chocolate chip cobbler bar, Kashi…
  • Here is an article from livestrong.com talking about the differences between natural and processed sugars. http://www.livestrong.com/article/546655-does-the-body-process-fruit-sugars-the-same-way-that-it-does-refined-sugar/
  • Don't count the sugars from fruits and veggies. Some Greek yogurts only have natural sugar in them too. You have to watch labels to know for sure if processed white sugar has been added. That's the stuff you want to limit.
  • It sure does! I can breathe too! Haha... These pants were so tight!!
  • I have only had Naked Juice like once in my life and I wasn't counting calories then, so I'm just curious... is that added sugar or is that the natural sugars from the fruit? I can eat 64g of sugar from just eating apples, oranges, and berries.
  • Note to self.... Must try the Butt Bible. Great work, by the way!! You have a most enviable behind!
  • OOOoooh Fun Question. Growing up we only had a bb gun in the house. Anything stronger than that was a bit scary. As I got older I didn't like guns. I thought police and military were the only people that should have them. I had a friend that had guns and I even got to shoot them a few times when I 18-19. I thought it was…
  • I can't tell you anything about pre-made shakes... but I can recommend that you just buy yourself a Nutri-bullet! They're amazing! I have one and making a smoothy is so easy, delicious, and healthy! My 2 favorite blends: Spinach, banana, berries, orange, flax, and water Banana, PB2 Powdered peanut butter, flax, and milk -…
  • You could always try something different with your fitness. I've been looking at a lot of HIIT type workouts. They cause muscle confusion and combine cardio and strength. Most can be done without any equipment. They usually take around 20 minutes to do the routine and can be challenging. The maintenance diet is worth…
  • I think you should still pay attention to your sugar consumption from foods that it's added to. I wouldn't count fruit. You can either do this by not adding it to your log at all or just subtracting the sugar from the fruit.
  • I like water mixes that don't have any aspartame or sugar in there. Right now I like Propel flavor packets. I used to live on DIet Coke but I don't like all the negative stuff that aspartame and other artificial sweeteners are associated with. My favorite snacks are Sargento's low fat string cheese (50 cals per stick!) and…
  • I actually noticed a difference in my performance on day 2. I stopped to rest much less. I have only done day 2 and started it 4 days ago. Today should have been day 3 but I didn't even think about it and hopped in the shower. By the time I realized it I didn't have time to workout and shower again before work. Might do it…
  • Were you always overweight? I think I might have been a little heavier than I should have been growing up, but I can't really recall when it really became a problem. Maybe middle school? Or were you once a healthy weight? As a toddler for sure. Did you "let yourself go"? I think in a way I did by letting a problem get…
  • I like chips with sandwiches too and found that Popcorn Indiana popcorn chips are perfect!
  • Would it help you cut back on the diet sodas if you knew that the aspartame in it kills brain cells and causes false hunger? I was a Diet Coke addict. Haven't had any in over 2 weeks. Haven't even had a craving for it. You could buy the sugar free water flavor powders to add to water if that will help. I also haven't heard…
  • You can also google "body weight exercises". You should be able to find a lot of options that way.
  • A lot of gyms will also set up one free session with a personal trainer (in hopes that you'll use them more afterwards) and they can give you a basic plan to start with. Elliptical machines are a good machine for beginners too, since you determine the intensity and speed by how fast you pedal.
  • Even though it wasn't my best workout I went to the gym after work so that I could get a workout in for the weekend. Soooo... What I did right was: 1. went to the gym. 2. Stayed within my calories 3. Made healthy choices
  • 5'5" I'm only down 9lb from my starting weight of 267 and so still wear same size pants = 18 mostly but sometimes 20 depending on brand. This is an interesting thread to me though, I've seen a lot of people post their weights and pants size and they could weigh less than me but wear bigger pants. I know that everyone is…
  • Wow! Amazing thread! You guys are all so inspiring!! I hope that in roughly a year I can be one the people with a before and after pic of a 100 lb loss!!
  • This whole thread made me giggle. =)
  • You should try Popcorn Indiana popcorn chips! Mmmmm!
  • The first thing you need to do is change your thinking and change your attitude. I know it's easier said than done, but if you go into this with a negative outlook you won't get far. From your picture I can see you're a beautiful girl, your smile looks like it could light up a room. You need to look at the things you love…
