Not registered for anything yet, but plan on running a 10K in Hilo, HI in March then a half either in summer or fall. It’s been 3 years since my last half. Maybe Charlevoix, Holland, or Grand Rapids (all MI), whatever doesn’t conflict with my husband’s marathons. He will be finishing his 50 states in September!

I have had classic skis for years and tried skate two years ago. I rented the first few times, then ended up buying skate skis last winter. 10k race tomorrow morning. Friday it was 70 and beautiful, at race time it will be 30 with 20 mph winds gusting to 40 mph. We got our first snow today, too. I haven't trained much due to an injury, and I haven't run in the cold yet this year. This will be interesting! Feel free to add me, I'd love more runner friends!

Another vote for Moving Comfort. I have their Maia, Fiona & Rebound Racer models. Recently bought a VS model, and discovered that after 3 miles that it got incredibly uncomfortable.

My husband has a Black Diamond Storm headlamp, and it is much better than the cheap one I use. There's lots of options for reflective gear, I have seen some nice jackets, hats, etc that have an all-over reflective pattern. Feel free to add me! I have a half on Sunday, and then another on 10/18 followed by a few shorter races in November. Then I'll switch gears and go to cross country ski racing for the winter. I will be doing another half in April and a 25k in May.

I run outside all winter too, and chesirecatastrophe summed it up very well. I live in Michigan, and do more winter races than summer ones. For me the worst thing is the wind, I live in a very rural area and it's almost all farmland, so there's no escaping the wind. I would recommend a lightweight wind resistant jacket.…
