  • Great topic. One of my goals this year is to consciously track my macros. I am in maintenance mode and really focusing on a leaner body. I still don't know what macro breakdown I should use. I tend to prefer lowish carb as this is what my doc recommended for my pcos. I am not a huge meat eater and tend to stick with…
  • Day one completed. I enjoyed the workout and my 5yo did his version of exercising as well. No cardio workout is complete without some burpees thrown in. Core 1 was short and challenging. I do have lower back issues so I had to modify some of the moves with legs straight up in the air. Great start of this program ...looking…
  • Do you log your bad days as well? Do those calories totalled with what you eat during the week still have you at a weekly deficit? In addition to water retention, you may need to tighten up on calorie counting especially on those bad days. Best wishes OP
  • Because caloric burns typically vary on your stats (height, weight) and effort put into it. A lot of ppl log it under circuit training. I did use a polar hrm ...the most I burnt was a little over 400 cals and that was month 2 workouts.
  • Recomp is slow and benefits are not immediate but I am not confident in bulk / cut cycles and being able to do that properly. Are you measuring inches as well. P90x / insanity hybrid is tough and I'm sure you may have some water retention in there too. Best wishes
  • My lower back tends to arch when I do floor work. I have to consciously remember to press my back on the floor or sometimes I placed a rolled towel under the small of my back. Some of the workouts where your legs are inches off the floor ...I have to raise mine higher. So basically I do slight modifications. I don't have…
  • Thank you for sharing guys. These are truly motivating and a clear indicator it's never too late to start! I was never a heavy person but just never felt comfortable in my skin. I was very sedentary growing up and had no interest in sports. My weight fluctuated from being 15 lbs overweight to underweight. In my 20s my…
  • I just got Tony Horton's hard corps 22 program so this is what I intend to start from Monday. Since it is only 22 mins I may incorporate additional workouts from maybe the 2nd week as I need to pace myself. If I do, it would be a mix of beast or p90x3 strength sessions for sure. My exercise regime is what I really need…
  • I just got it myself. Previewed the cardio and resistance 1 vids. I can't wait to try them out. I also can't really stand much of Tony horton ..I prefer shaun T style to his but tony's workouts are some of the best.
  • I think the most I burned was a little over 400 cals and that prob was a month 2 workout
  • Music works for me!
  • No, my weight doesn't correlate with my bcp. I know I gain weight when I eat too much or have chinese (sodium) or intense workout session (water retention)
  • Don't worry ...you will get there. Are you breastfeeding as well ...you may need an extra 500 cals in that case. Invest in a scale to weigh your foods and log accurately. Check out youtube for indoor workouts. Fitnessblender.Com provides a wide variety of workouts and you can select the length of time as well. I used to…
  • I do a brief warm up, lifts and then cardio if I am doing both on the same day.
  • Hi As long as you're weighing your food and logging everything accurately, you will eventually see a loss. You can also be retaining water from your workout especially if you're doing heavy lifting (you didn't give details on your strength training) I personally thing you're over estimating on cals burnt from your workout.…
  • I love max 30! I used a hrm but maybe circuit training or calisthenics vigorous?
  • Bring in a caloric deficit is what loses the weight. You can have the pizza but limit the slices and have with maybe a salad. Weigh your food to get better estimates
  • My preference is in the afternoon or last thing at night as it doesn't affect my sleep. I do not have the energy in the morning to work out ...I am sluggish. The earliest I can workout is prob about 7am which doesn't fit in with my work schedule. I prefer to stick to a schedule that I can be consistent with.
  • Sweet - usually fruit, fruit preserve, prunes or protein powder Savoury - salsa, chili, chives, tuna, chicken, turkey, chopped veggies, tomatoes and watercress. I also add seasoning such as ranch and use as a dip.
  • I don't log when I am on vacation. I try to make healthy protein and veggie choices. Of course I indulge a bit. Research the types of food there are if you're not familiar with the cuisine. Also, most times I do a tons of walking so that tends to even things out a bit
  • I don't think it would be an issue. If I am travelling for leisure, I don't plan to workout and usually eat at maintenance or slightly over at times. I resume my usual habits when I return home. I think sometimes the break does the body good.
  • Does the chicken or veggies have sauce? Usually for flavour, you can add broth or seasonings to your rice
  • I usually gain 5 - 6 lbs after eating chinese due to the sodium. If you're weighing daily then expect these types of fluctuations due to water retention, sodium intake, totm, hormonal changes etc
  • It takes a week to stop feeling intensely sore. I just push through the first 10 mins of workout ...if I am in pain the I stop. I always listen to my body. I am always a sweaty red faced mess after a workout. That had never changed and I have come to accept it. I have even slipped on my own sweat during an insanity vid :/
  • I did home workout dvds and youtube vids and still. I worked out during his nap time or bed time or if it's cardio, he used to be his swing and clapped along. He enjoyed watching me jump up and down and the music.workout dvds I used were beachbody and jillian michaels vids. I also liked fitness blender.com and you can set…
  • Beachbody workouts are quite good. So are Jillian Michaels and you can check free workouts such as fitnessblender and Jessica smith
  • I can't choose ...insanity, insanity max 30 and body beast are my top 3. I do think p90x is the most well rounded but I cant commit to the time frame of some of the vids.

  • I always heard that soy messes with hormone levels but never researched the science behind it. I do use minced soy at times to make burgers / lasagne etc when cooking for my vegan friends.
  • Hi, welcome. What are your goals?
  • Give it some time. I did the insanity program and lost inches faster than weight. I had a lot of water retention due to sore muscles. In month 2 is when I saw the lbs coming off. My advice is to use a tape measure or take pics in addition to the scale. Good luck!
