Isn't that kind of vague? Can't my portion that I actually eat be completely different to the next persons? If I am allowed 3000 calories to maintain my weight, I may have a much larger portion of something than a person who only has 1800 calories to maintain. How would that be enforced?
-
Varies between 1000-850 calories a day. (2 pounds a week).

He really likes Wendy's

Really now? You got a source for that?

I was diagnosed BPII and went on Abilify. I gained 30 pounds over the year because I just couldn't overcome the never ending ravenous appetite I had. I would eat until I was stuffed, yet still was extremely hungry. I went off Abilify cold turkey (highly not suggested for anyone to do) and spent 5 months of serious…

Wait, there's a pooplog app?

The point to my story was more on this, "Some people are so uptight, thinking they have a right to never be offended, inconvenienced or annoyed." As I said, puking is more than an inconvenience. Also, where I work we have scent-free policies that include both perfumes/cologne as well as food smells. The quadrant I work in…

Thanks to being a kid and not knowing about red tide, I got sick from eating some whiting I caught and cooked. Now, the smell of fish makes me nauseous and has on occasion made me actually vomit. Just the smell. Puking as you walk by the lunch room is much more than just being "Offended, inconvenienced, or annoyed."
-
You'd probably be just as hated as the people who microwave fish in break room.

I think they mean 100% grated. :)

I chose 210 because that was what I weighed when I met my wife 18 years ago. That would still put me leave me as obese as far as the BMI chart goes. Don't care, I looked damn good at that weight. The lowest I have been in my adult life was down to 189, and that was in bootcamp. Even that weight is still considered…

Yep, I usually have sourdough toast every morning, and then a sandwich for lunch.

What?? Now that sounds like punishment. Seriously just eat the Oreos if you are craving them that bad. Either add in some exercise today, or pre-log the calories for the next day so you can account for them. Your body isn't a computer that has an end time of when it counts your calorie intake. Just because you have 1200…

That was my families reaction to it. It was very meh for a sandwich, and we were annoyed that we did pay full price for it. Even my seven year old son asked that we never go there again  Just can't see what all the hype is for the place.
-
Wow... the more you know :) Didn't know you could do this.

Do you have to use jumper cables to "restart" a cell?
-
Yeah.... no for the simple answer. Why would I follow such overly complicated woo to try and lose weight?
-
I have thought about checking this out, but then I think with my anxiety issues it might be a bit much.

Protein powder. All of it. Just cannot stand the stuff.
-
It's amazing how much difference there can be when you start weighing things.

We eat at the dinner table 5 out 7 nights a week normally, unless things are hectic. But we sit and eat and talk about our days.

I also never make comments to her about her weight. I can be snarky when it comes to things like boys or homework, but I know weight (me having my issues all my life) is one of those things that doesn't need to be made fun of by a parent. As I said, she is in the healthy weight range, but the higher end. I want her to…

And that was what my inquiry about using MFP as a tool to help teach her that.

Well, I work and get home about 3 hours later than she does from school. The wife works as well and gets home about 2 hours after my daughter gets home from school. Back when I was a stay at home father all food came through me, not so much anymore. And 11 is a fine time for kids to learn independence and to start getting…

Really? How? It teaches them accountability and to understand that food, while pleasing to taste, still is just a means to fuel our bodies. As for not having "junk" food in the house. I am also in the mind to teach her that there isn't any "bad" or "forbidden" food as long as everything is moderation. Someone suggested…

And we have tried. Been through 4 sports so far and she has taken a liking to them. And none of the other suggestions either. However, set her down with an easal and some paints and she can be there for hours. Art really is her thing, so we got her into an art class for social skills as well as personal skill.
-
Yes, this. Thank you. I was thinking that MFP would be a tool to help her realize it.

Um, no we don't just do activities to just lose weight. Even at my biggest we would do activities for fun. We also bike in the neighborhood. We live in northern California, so hiking comes around at least once every 3 weeks since there are thousands of trails around us. We go skating, bowling. We are not the type of…
