  • That's a good attitude, 5n0bal1. I'm afraid of gaining too much weight, I feel fat, and I've been struggling with feeling insecure. I googled images of "14 weeks pregnant" this morning and there are photos of women who still aren't showing. That's frustrating. This is my first pregnancy but I'm already in a different…
  • Hi I'm due October 2 with a boy, I live in Los Angeles. I'm age 36 and this is my first pregnancy. I started overweight at about 180 pounds. I had been dieting and trying to lose weight at the time. My healthy (non-pregnant) weight range is 120-160 pounds, and my personal ideal weight is 145-150. I'm 13 weeks and I'm still…
  • I definitely want to stay fit and healthy, I'll add you. I don't know what hammer & chisel is - I'll look it up. I'm 36 years old. I've only been walking, I should try to add another type of exercise.
  • I'm 13 weeks, due October 2 with a boy. I'm 36 years old but this is my first pregnancy - so happy!!
  • How in the world do you not gain any weight while pregnant? I'd love to know.
  • That's exactly what I did and I also got 1900 cals - we must be the same height.
  • Last year my therapist told my to start out my day by saying 5 things I'm thankful for, and I've been doing it every day since. It makes such a huge difference! Don't judge yourself, and think of things you're really thankful for in that moment, whether they're large or small. Today I was thankful for intimacy with my…
  • That's SOO awesome! I'm 13 weeks, can't wait to feel my boy move!
  • Fortunately I log my snacks so I can look back and tell you the most frequent: - tangerines (Cuties) - light string cheese - bananas - apples - greek yogurt - nuts - ice cream after dinner
  • I haven't noticed specific cravings. I just want to eat food, lots of food, all the different types of food. And I'm not sure how much this is a pregnancy thing. It might be partly mental/emotional. I ask myself, do I really feel hungry? And sometimes the answer is no, but I still want to eat.
  • Hi I'm due October 2, I live in Los Angeles. This is my first pregnancy!! I started overweight at about 180 pounds and 5'7". I had been dieting and trying to lose weight at the time. • You should definitely do Insanity, it will help you lose weight and reach your goals. Insanity will not tighten excess skin or tone muscles - any cardio is cardio, it will help you lose fat if you also eat properly. Of course no exercise will help you with your goals if you overeat. But also, you don't need to do a program…
  • Those of you against skinny jeans and leggings on men are showing your age. Europeans, teenagers, fashionistas and Russell Brand are already doing it and there's nothing we can do to stop it! :D
  • For me I take over 10k steps a day, but I leave my setting on sedentary and then add the walking in as exercise. If you put your setting at lightly active, and then you walk for 60 minutes, you shouldn't enter that as exercise. Either ways it works out about the same.
  • I am happy to find this mostly intelligent discussion thread in the MFP sea (except for a few hateful comments in here). I am a feminist. I was not insecure about my body when I was overweight. However I was rightfully unhappy and angry with some other very painful problems and relationships issues in my life. But I was…
  • Personally this guy does not look like a different weight in his "before and after" photos. You can see it in his legs, arms, pecs and face - they are the same. The only thing that changed is he's sticking out his stomach before and he oiled and shaved after. In real before and afters you can see it in their face, arms,…
  • Not shaving my pits doesn't cause sweat and odor, it actually prevents it - I don't get it. Also I really dislike shaving my legs, it's a waste of time to me. My hair is thick, it takes forever, I get razor burn, I never get completely smooth, and the stubble starts back right away. Why go through that torture for…
  • That's me :D Many women don't shave in Europe and other parts of the world - it's totally fine. I'll start shaving as soon as men start regularly shaving their pits and arms (Michael Phelps not included) :D
  • My weight has not changed this week. I typically see a daily fluctuation between 140-145 pounds (before/after eating etc), but no real change. Thank you :)
  • Hi there! I tracked as accurately as possible for the last week. Here are my numbers: Friday 7/12 1957 cals, 254g carb, 61g fat, 126g protein Saturday 7/13 2007 cals, 228g carb, 64g fat, 126g protein Sunday 7/ 14 1589 cals, 183g carb, 48g fat, 120g protein Monday 7/15 1650 cals, 192g carb, 40g fat, 132g protein Tuesday…
  • String cheese! Target has light string cheese, 50 calories and 7 grams of protein a piece, very inexpensive. Love it. We have protein bars at our house but I try to minimize the bars and shakes because they are expensive.
  • I love pilates!
  • I see what you're saying. It is a personal preference, but since you are asking for opinions, personally I wouldn't bother. I don't directly train abs.
  • If you are burning more calories than you consume, you will get smaller in your stomach area, not bigger. If someone told you you can get bigger from ab training, that's wrong. Sorry, it won't make you look like you have more love handles. Having said that, I don't directly train abs or do crunches, and I have a visible…
  • 100 pounds is very doable but I would not limit yourself to the timeframe of a year, because if you don't meet that you will frustrate yourself, instead of focusing on your successes. 100 pounds in a year is over 8 pounds every month, which is really fast and might cause you to gain weight back after you are finished…
  • When you are emotionally and mentally ready to lose weight, and if you don't have any medical complications, then it's really not hard. Physically, it's about calories in and calories out - simple. Eat fewer calories than you burn and you will lose the weight. You can track that here on MFP - counting calories on MFP has…
  • This thread is a good reminder to me to stop eating the free food at work so often. The truth is that often I can't tell accurately whether it fits in my calories or macros or not. I think I'm taking a small piece of cake and I estimate and log it, but my estimate might be way under. That's how I gained weight before. I am…
  • Thanks to both of you! Hmm my diary was set to friends and you are my friend . . . but I have now changed it to public :) It is so hard to log accurately. For instance I made fried plantains for my family for dinner tonight - I have no clue how many cals a piece is and nothing accurate in the database - so I added 50 quick…
