That's impressive, well done! You made me look... My first recorded weigh-in was Nov 15, 2010 @ 250.0 lb. I certainly can't say that I've logged in every day -my current streak is 48 days. When I was doing P90X 5 days/week and eating super clean, I recorded my lowest ever weight of 219.9 on Feb 19, 2012. Not sustainable…

I was absolutely killing it 2 years ago, eating super clean and doing P90X 5 days/week in a group. I was also absolutely stuck. COULD NOT get under 223-225 lbs. By BMI standards, I'm supposed to be under 180. Measurements weren't moving either. I spent a whopping $8 on these…

Just finished week 1 of P90X today, (sort of, I'm working out with a coach who doesn't like/won't do the Yoga X) 5 AM, 5 days a week. Was doing Kenpo, Plyo, some Ab Ripper and Tony 1 on 1 with him for ~2 months, 3X/week to get ready for the X. Tomorrow I pick up a set of 50 lb PowerBlock dumbells I found on Craig's List…

Just read an article today in the NY Times (Boston Globe?) reporting on a study on this very topic. In a nutshell, people that got proper sleep lost more weight. Try hard to get a full 8 hours... If you're working out well, you're increasing your metabolism, and yes, your body is burning calories when you sleep. I've been…

You do need a monthly subscription after the initial free 3 months (usually). About $6/mo if you commit to 1 year. You're worth it. You don't need an i-Phone or Android, you don't need the monitor/watch unless you want it. Don't buy the Bluetooth one unless you have and iPhone or Android and you want to see the live data…

ACK! Alarm clock malfunction this AM. Woke up 22 minutes after I was supposed to meet my coach. Got up and WENT ANYWAY! He was pissed at first, but in the end gave me props for actually showing up. Did the last 20 minutes of a core workout. Didn't feel like enough after Thanksgiving, so went to the Y and did 4 bursts on…

Thanks! I just looked at the BMR calculation here at MFP, 2007 calories, completely sedentary all day. According to the BodyMedia, I'm burning 1.4 to 1.8 cal/minute while sleeping -call it 1.6 => 2304 as my actual BMR. I actually do a bit of walking and lifting heavy objects at work, plus it's a flight of stairs every time…

Been using BodyMedia for a few days now. I'm enough of a numbers junkie (i.e. Geek) that I love it. My Beachbody coach thinks it's overstating my calories burned: 3469, 3975 the first 2 full days, with 500-600ish workouts. I've triple checked my settings (5' 10", 246lbs, mostly sedentary desk job). I've been doing KempoX,…

As a guy who just started 2 weeks ago, it's great to see success like your husband. It really helps keep me going and know that I can do it too. Thanks for posting his B/A. I feel great, working out 3x/week with a BB coach and paying attention to what goes past my teeth. 2nd weigh in tomorrow, Thanksgiving morning, then an…

Up at 4:30 AM to my BB coach's office for a 5:00 AM workout. I couldn't do it if I didn't know he was there waiting for me 3x/week! I'm not a morning person either, and this makes all the difference for me. I started 2 1/2 weeks ago, today was my 7th workout with him and I feel GREAT. Burned 422 cal in a 30 minute cardio…

I just got started last week. Was reearching HRMs and learned about the GoWear Fit. Realized there was one sitting in my wife's closet, never used! Just set up an account at their site. I suspect I'm going to stay with MFP for calorie intake logging, and just put in the exercise calories (have the wrist monitor too). I…

I just started working out last week with my chiropractor, who's a BB coach and tracking what goes past my teeth with MFP. He's mixing it up with P90X, Tony 1 on 1's etc. 5 AM, 3 days/week in his office. I'm uncoordinated as all hell, so some of the stuff is tough to get the hang of, not to mention that I'm grossly out of…
