Pretty sure when building muscle you want to be at a surplus every day as most of the muscle building time is done on the recovery days when your body is needed additional protein to repair the muscle.

Hi Ann, thank you for your very detailed response. I am a little younger at the age of 33. Completely agree with being a tad more accurate with logging however I can honestly say I never ever have more than I account for. If anything it would be I log a little more than I eat just to make sure I haven't slipped up.…

SOrry that was badly written i mean im not able to do 10 situps** without the immediate cramp
-
But i didnt take anything sinister to the body

It was a sparring session that led to alt of issues. I got hit hard on the head several times although blocked it kinda rocked me. Dr thought i was concussed, considering i boxed for 2 more rounds and didnt go down or get knocked out at all etc. I dont see how i was... But its since then really

Using scooby it said 2800 cals which seems extremely high, thats with 20% fat loss
-
Oh to add, im a stay at home dad/Pt student with open university, so apart from chasing my little ones around i suppose im mostly sitting?
-
Im hoping slimming world isnt considered a fad diet that will help to create loose skin*
-
To be honest calorie counting just isnt working for me, Ive tried for months in the past also and i just cant seem to find the magic number, im talking weeks of non cheating, weighing everything and not a lb difference. So i think im going to do slimming world as its still wholesome food and i can get required amount…

The thing is i want to lose the weight to have a better life, be confident to take my top off and take the kids swimming etc etc, If i have loose skin all over me as a male i cant do that. Infact it will probably look worse than it does now :(

Hey guys, so I went and did it and thought I'd update. After an hour of football I went straight to boxing. First thing was a warmup 1 mile run practically sprinting lol. I didn't mind cause it was a bit of a social event as we ran around. Trainer was brilliant and as we're the rest of the guys there. Nobody judged and I…

Luck

Good

Unforuntately you cant really lose the fat anywhere specifically even if you do exercises around them zones. So just keep cutting fat and it will start coming off there to :D
-
Okay thanks
-
So can I be clear here. Is eating 1800 too low for my weight?? I'm confused :( I just want a number to stick to and I guess give it time
-
Ah okay, yeah my sessions are 40 mind 3x a week. 1 hour of football on a Wednesday indoor. Then the odd 1-2 mile run in between that
-
Hmm is that tdee based off of working out? Because if I miss a workout for whatever reason that of course will change. Not that I plan to just wondering if that is with or without exercise
-
I'm not saying 7lbs would be noticeable. I'm just setting my goals and I think a 7lb loss over 30 days is reasonable to expect. The event is really just a short term goal and motivation to stick to it. There are of course longer goals set in my mind but this one im trying to achieve first. Consistently without a break…

I've been lifting for quite a few years I'm no newbie to it but yeah I guess retention is happening atm. Considering I do workout accurately and I don't eat back calories for exercise it can't be that anyway. On a sedentary lifestyle as I'm a house husband. Maybe just retention?? Just a bit disheartening
-
Losing weight guys. Okay maybe ill eat back 50% and be done with it. MoSt of the time if I just go for a run etc I won't bother. But my body today has been pushed to the limit for 2 hours straight so I think I need the energy
-
Okay so if that is correct does that mean I am suppose to eat back my calories???
-
Hehe yeah that actually is a very good idea. I also thought 1600 was considerably low lol. No offence ofcourse I know just trying to help but yeah. Thanks a lot for responding guys. Onwards and upwards :)
-
Would really appreciate some more info on this if anyone has any??
-
Oh also I'm sure I read on a sticky somewhere that you should never out sedentary. Apparently even if your doing a desk job and barely walk around nobody's activity level is truly sedentary. Not sure if true just certain I've read it somewhere
-
Hey thanks for replying. You see this a number I haven't ever calculated. When doing scooby etc it puts me at 2200 after -20%? 1600 seems pretty low but that might be because I'm not used to seeing it that low...
-
Yeah I mean that's all I can do I spose. Just very gutting to think one thing and realise it's not true...
-
That scale is a brand new one with great reviews. Reasonable price also like £50 which is considered a decent one. Just think it needed resetting as there is no variation now but just sucks that I'm much heavier than expected :(
-
I would just forget it and move on. Eating 900 also or so will just make you binge again as you will be really hungry. It actually takes a lot to gain fat so don't sweat it. Eat normal and work out. You will correct and damage within a week
-
Very helpful advice so far thank you. I think if I'm honest I chosee what I thought was the fastest route but after 4 weeks I'm kinda seeing that eating 1850 a day probably isn't that realistic for me to consume for the neXT couple months or more. The tdee method also looks good for me cause I eat low calories all day…
