Hey guys, I'm a little nervous about going. It's only an amateur boxing training gym. Only about 10 people with 1 coach. What should I expect? I've got my mind set on being like circuit training or something??? My worry is my biceps are sore from yesterday lifts, plus I have an hour of 5 a side football from 6-7 then this boxing from 8-9. I'm probably nervous about nothing but anyone experienced this??

Every boxing club is different I think. I've been going to a boxing club for about three years now twice a week. It's everything from intense cardio, to skipping, core work like planking and lots of bag work. Depending on your instuctor, you shouldn't be nervous about anything provided he or she isn't really strict. At the club I go to, you only do what your able to do. There's a mixture of people from 18 to 60 and men and women. and an average of 10 to 20 people per class. Our instructor will never call anybody out or say anything to anyone if they can't keep up and that's what makes it enjoyable AS LONG AS YOUR TRYING. If we're suppose to do 20 pushups and you can only do 8-10, then that's fine. Our club is 60 minutes of non stop cardio and it's a great way to stay in shape. I wouldn't be nervous about anything but if it's like our club, you might be a bit sore the next day (lol). Good luck to you.

Hey guys, so I went and did it and thought I'd update. After an hour of football I went straight to boxing. First thing was a warmup 1 mile run practically sprinting lol. I didn't mind cause it was a bit of a social event as we ran around. Trainer was brilliant and as we're the rest of the guys there. Nobody judged and I have a few people go out of there way to help me with my technique. All in all I'm going to go every week. Amazing eye opener and brilliant workout. Thanks for the replies and to anyone else nervous like I was. It's so worth it so go do it :)
