So I'm back on mfp after some time off. Now I set my goals via mfp I'm 17.5 stone, 5ft 7, male. It's given me 2180 cals a day (to much??) I'm a stay at home dad as I work from home repairing computers. I do 3 days of weightlifting a week. And I play football for an hour every Wednesday which according to my hrm is 1000 call burnt. Today I've done my lifting, football and started 30 day shred with my wife. Now I'm just wondering do I eat back any exercise calories?? Also any device on if too many cals for my weight etc would be great. Thanks in advance

I doubt that is to much for you. For comparison:
I'm 5'4.5", female, 137.5 lbs (9 st 11.5lbs), and a stay at home mom
30 Day Average intake: 1856 (MFP goal is 1420 NET)
Average weight loss per week : 1.2 lbs (according to trendweight.com)
I lift 3 days a week and run 2-3 days a week (short runs...maybe 3-4 miles a day).
Occasionally I will do a workout video at home so that I can eat a few more calories.0 -
Okay so if that is correct does that mean I am suppose to eat back my calories???0

2180 calories to maintain? Or are you trying to lose weight?0

It's correct as a baseline. Then yes, you eat back exercise calories. Since MFP is not psychic, it does not know how many calories you will burn say, on Friday. You have to tell MFP by logging it, so then it can tell you to eat it.
That said, I'd be cautious about eating them ALL back at first. Exercise burns are tough to estimate, even with most devices for most exercises. So you may want to eat a portion back and see how that goes. If you lose weight faster than you told MFP you wanted to, start eating more back. (Maybe start at 50%-75% range.)0 -
I'm trying to lose weight and I do not eat calories burned during exercises back. Unless I do extra training on top just for the purpose of eating more. But then I generally don't exercise much - some running 2-3 times a week.
Not sure if this helps.0 -
Losing weight guys. Okay maybe ill eat back 50% and be done with it. MoSt of the time if I just go for a run etc I won't bother. But my body today has been pushed to the limit for 2 hours straight so I think I need the energy0
