  • Some very good advice. Thank you all. I appreciate it very much. Sadly, I have no family left nearby. I do have a son and two wonderful grandchildren but they are so far away in another state. I did try some support groups but so many of them seem stuck in the process. Some have been there over 4 years! I understand that…
  • Sadly, mine are still pretty darn big. I was finally fitted by an expert. I was a 52DDDD now I am a 34G. The cup size just isn't going down. I would like to get them down to D but it isn't happening. I have lost all but 15 lbs. I still want to lose but that won't make any major cup changes. Guess I'm just stuck with the…
  • We are of an age, I will be 64 in a couple of months. It took 18 months to lose 112 lbs. I gained back 12 pounds when I quit smoking but lost half of that. On Mon. Weds, Fri I go to the gym. I run half hour of hills at level 7. Then I do 45 - 60 minutes of weights. On Mon I work upper body, Wed the express circuit and Fri…
  • Hi all. Just found you over on CC and thought I would join your group. I am Kakalina over on CC. Thanks for starting the group. We are booked for the 31 day Incan Treasures on the HAL Statendam in the fall. Really looking forward to that. Of course, it would be nice if I could drop the 10 lbs. I gained on the last cruise.…
  • I too have the same worries. Last summer I hit my lowest weight. Last fall I went on a 30 day cruise and quit smoking. I gained 12 pounds. It has been 6 months and I can not lose the 12 pounds. I lost 5 of it but gained 3 back as of today. :+{ I am obsessing over it to no end. I am maintaining 1350 calories per day. I work…
  • I am beginning to panic. I have now gained a total of 10 pounds. I just want to die!!!! I am staying at 1300 calories. I am working out hard three times a week at the gym and walking or swimming the other three days and rest on Sunday. Every time I step on the scale now the weight level is going in the wrong direction. I…
  • Well, then. Thank you for the replies. I'll just continue on with my calorie limits and increase my exercise and see what happens.
  • What point is there in doing this if you are not honest with yourself. I log every bite that goes into my mouth. I don't miss anything. I am hypothyroid and take medication for it but that is my only problem health wise that would/could affect my weight. I am trying the new calorie regime and after I get back I will come…
  • I so appreciate all your suggestions. I did go to that site and did the calculations. If I want to maintain I should be at 1500 calories per day from what I can figure out. My BMR is 1308 and my TDEE is 2120. I made the adjustments to my goals on MFP and we will see how it goes. I have not gained any inches. I measure my…
  • Wow. I guess I am very uneducated. The trainer didn't tell me how much to add, just to eat more. I decided on my own that that was a good amount to add. Guess I was very wrong. I've been going by the digital weight watchers scale. For the last 3 months I've seemed to gain and lose the same three pounds over and over again.…
  • I am 63 years old. I now weigh 160 ( I started at 259). I am 5'6" tall. Female I upped my calories to 1350 about 3 months ago. My gym routine is 30 min on treadmill at 3.5 workout hills at level 3. Then 30 crunches, then 75 sit ups with 30 lbs of weight. Then 25 on each of the hip abductions with 30 lbs. of weight. Then…
  • I have, yes. It has been about 14 months now and I have slowed way down on the weight loss. Although my profile seems to be off by a few pounds I show I have lost 112 pounds. I was a size 28 ( 3x ) when I started 4-1-12. The jeans I just bought are a size 10. I feel amazing. I changed my lifestyle. No diets here, just a…
  • Thanks so very much for your support. I think sometimes, we just need someone to say " hang in there you're doing OK". I had no idea that weight gain after the hospital was so common. What I did learn today ( that I did not know ) was that smoking a pack of cigs a day burns about 250 calories. So, one of the reasons so…
  • I put all my fat clothes in big plastic bags and shoved them under the bed. Since I have gone from a size 28 to a size 10 I have tons in different sizes. I feel that this is a forever change but just to be safe I will keep them for one year and then donate them. I have some fabulous cruise clothes and formal wear.
  • My mother used to take a piece of white bread and fold it down the middle. She then filled the middle with about a tablespoon of sugar and then ran it lightly under hot water. That was a snack!
  • This is so totally embarrassing but it was when I sat down and the toilet seat broke in half. I mean, really! Several years ago I was on a treadmill when the tread broke and threw me off. I broke my shoulder, collarbone and dislocated my arm. Long story short, by time I was up and about I had gained almost 60 pounds. Since…
  • Thanks for your replies. Maybe the water. I realzied that I had cut back without noticing it and also I had increased my diet soda from 1 to 2 a day . I will try those changes.
  • What great ideas. Thanks Sunshine that took a lot of effort. I guess my snacks won't look to good here. I allow myself 1 oz. of BBQ potato chips with my salad at lunch and 1 Oreo cookie as my dessert in the evening. I have lost 61 pounds since April 1st so it must be working.
  • Thanks for your reply and support. Good luck with your goals.
