  • Sweating through cardio will help get rid of body water
  • It is an excellent diet if you are looking to reduce weight and at the same time reduce your blood cholesterol. I lost 20 lbs on this diet plus my blood numbers came back to normal after bordering disaster.
  • If you are open I suggest that you go on a complete fruit/veggies/salad diet which has only naturally occurring sodium and no added salt. I recommend book "Eat to Live" by Dr. Fuhrman (a real doctor) that promotes a life style of healthy eating that particularly addresses HBP and Cholesterol. This book was a god send as I…
  • I second stronglifts. Very simple but powerful plan.
  • Check out the Book "Eat to Live" by Dr. Fuhrman (a real doctor) http://www.amazon.com/Eat-Live-Amazing-Nutrient-Rich-Sustained-ebook/dp/B0047Y175M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410447595&sr=8-1&keywords=eat+to+live The diet is targeted primarily for people with High cholesterol. This diet did wonders to my blood numbers.
  • Start slow. First replace your breakfast with a fruit based smoothie. Give time for your body to adjust. After that gradually increase the fruit intake. I am on raw till 4 diet and about 75% of my calories come from fruits & veggies. I agree with all the benefits - glowing skin, weight loss, general upbeat in mood and…
  • Eating healthy is nothing compared to Dining out!
  • I did not chose vegan/raw vegan thing for moral reasons. When I tried different diets I found excellent results with raw food along with a general feeling of well being. I get protein from nuts, lentils and since I plan to life weights now added a pea protein powder. All I am saying is have majority of the calories may…
  • Are you living in India or US? There is really no cooking involved as all you consume is fruits and veggies in its natural form. You don't even have to bother your mom for food :). Just pick up a fruit - wash and eat. You can also drink smoothies. Yes you have to be practical and do the slow transition. You will amazed how…
  • I drink a Strawberry Banana smoothie for breakfast and a Green smoothie for Lunch. I snack on fruits between Lunch and dinner. For dinner it is a salad plus some of whatever my wife makes for dinner.
  • You should take a serious look at eating Vegan raw food. I am of East Indian origin and successfully lost weight on a Raw food diet than simply eating rice and curries. Plus I lowered my blood numbers. I think 80% is diet and 20% activity. There is another culprit - that is Salt which causes water retention and gain weight.
  • Wow! Congratulations from a fellow Desi. Just curious what height are you?
  • I settled down with Now brand Pea Protein powder. It is the cheapest OK tasting vegan protein powder I could find. I also mix it with almond milk, banana & strawberry as a smoothie.
  • I am going to ask you to consider a raw vegan diet. It will do wonders to your body.
  • All I can say is try it for yourselves. I think Raw till 4 is the best and most practical diet. But I still dont support eating 51 bananas a day or 20 medjool dates. I eat raw but limit my calories to 500-600 per meal.
  • Try snacking on fruits. Your craving for salty snacks will go away.
  • One tip that helped me tremendously in losing weight is cutting Salt from my diet. Its amazing how much water body retains because of Salt. Try cutting down salt and you should drop 1 to 2 kgs in a week.
  • Beans, legumes, Chick peas all are very protein rich. Greens is another item that is very protein dense, but you will have to eat lot more. Nuts is another category that is protein rich. If you still unable to meet your goals from above then a plant based protein powder (I use pea protein power) is an option.
  • I am from India but now live in US. I lost 10 kgs primarily on a raw food diet.
  • It could be because of the Salt. Salt causes water retention. Did you eat anything salty yesterday? For example my body is sensitive to Salt and I have gained like 2.5 lbs overnight because of that.
  • I am from North Texas...more specifically Allen.
  • I would watch your salt intake. IMO the biggest enemy is not fat nor sugar but Salt.
  • Not just vegetables, but I would include equal amount of fruits and atleast one cup of steamed beans. I recommend reading "Eat to Live" that will guide you through losing weight (and getting healthy) using primarily fruits and vegetables. In the end it is the calorie deficit and eating a well balanced meal in the calories…
  • Yup it is the water weight. I gained 5 lbs in 4 days.
  • I drink a smoothie for Breakfast and Lunch. Breakfast - Strawberry banana smoothie with a vegan protein powder & almond milk. I use 3 bananas and 6 strawberries. In addition I also take Walnut or almond. Lunch - Green smoothie (Mix of 3 bananas, 5 Deglet noor dates, spinach, Kale, Romaine, Celery, Green apple, cucumber &…
  • If you are nursing, you can eat healthy foods at anytime you feel hungry. Nursing alone will burn so much calories. My wife lost 35 lbs on just nursing alone.
  • I recommend that you take a look at eating raw vegan food. Cravings will disappear and the weight loss is undeniable. Plus you will feel awesome.
  • Try fruits. If you really want too sweet - try medjool dates. It is overwhelmingly sweet and guaranteed to stop any sugar craving.
  • I lost 2.3 Kg yesterday and this morning I lost another 0.9 Kg. Its amazing how much water I retain because of salt (and that is because of vacation last week)
  • Going Raw is the best thing that has happened to me. But going Raw sudden might have its consequences as your body may struggle with too much fiber. My recommendation is to start slow - like for week one 20-30% of calories come from raw. Increase that slowly over weeks 2,3 & 4 until you become fully raw. Under raw food the…
