  • Just came back to MFP after a long hiatus. Went back weight watchers for a time which I kind of regret? Anyway, Started whole30 yesterday. Came back to find support here for it as I know MFP'ers are awesome! I feel pretty good - but what do you do AFTER the 30?
  • I have a friend that is 1/2 Filipino and half African American. She can look either depending on styling. She is 5'8" and 120 pounds - moved to New York to be in Miss Saigon. She had to loose down to 108 pounds to blend in with the other girls in the show that were Asian. We went to see her and on stage she looked totally…

  • Bumping - amazing results!
  • She ignores her relativity to gravity and goes off of bodyfat, clothing fit, measurements, strength, and endurance... takes a sledgehammer to scale.
  • If you are doing a lifting program - you will love your results!
  • Most of my "gain" I am SURE was the week and a half off, lol. Sounds like you got yours totally dialed! I had a hard time deciding between 10 and 15%, too. I would suggest 10 for you because you didn't gain a lot during reset. If 10 doesn't work push up to 15?
  • I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas again, too - started a few days ago. Finally learned how to play Caravan well so it is making the game more enjoyable to have bottle caps to spend.
  • Mega-Gamer here: xbox tag is Gamermomma Play PC and Xbox games... even acted in a video game about 15 years ago. Our only difference is I tried the 1200 cal diet for years and it didn't work for me... doing eat more, lift heavy plan... Here are some of the games I've played over the years. Feel free to add :D Hexen 2 Quake…
  • I used to think my mom's childhood was black and white like the movies.
  • Haha, thanks! Last night my hubby gave me a hug and was really rubbing my shoulders in a "these feel different" way, haha. Too fun!
  • I would eat not BMR but TDEE (pick moderate activity) - TDEE is your maintenance weight... then lift heavy weights 3x a week. Cardio if you feel like it. Don't eat back exercise calories unless they take you under your BMR - then eat enough to get back to that. Giving advice I have gotten from super awesome bodied people…
  • Eat @ Tdee - 10-20% Hit my macros - 40% carb, 30% pro 30% fat Lift Heavy 3x a week Don't deprive myself Drink lots of water Stay the course and don't go for a quick fix Put more emphasis on clothing fit/size + measurements than the scale. Feeling good.
  • A lot of people use this calculator: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ I used it and have a bodymedia fit and it matches.
  • A lot of people do STS (Cathe Friedrich), P90x, or Stronglifts 5x5.
  • Haven't found an app - but these excel spreadsheets are awesome: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmBawuhJvld5dFBNQnRfMUNtU3F4TXc4YmdpWWQyRnc#gid=0
  • Okay I want to see the profile pic... the one she has now is just in the forest? I will be doing TDEE - %cut and counting as 1. Keeps me consistent.
  • I felt the SAME way. The best solution is to just follow the plan and not let anyone else dictate your health but you. So, to get started with weights... you have to find out where your 1 rep max is. Meaning, what can I lift only once? For me my dead lift was like - 60 pounds to start. Then, you take 80% of that to do your…
  • This. and this... Sorry.
  • I did this a few years ago - 2003 I think. Two months lost 8 pounds that found their way back super quick. It's basically a starvation diet, but that's just my opinion. It was also nasty. I wouldn't do it again if they paid me. I'm sure there are people that have positive experiences with it... but for me I would rather…
  • I have no opinion on what you should do from personal perspective, as I am in no way at my goals. I wouldn't take diet/exercise advice from me as I don't have any results that are worth emulating. Kind of like... why would I get my hair cut from someone with gnarly, ugly hair. That being said... I do have a couple of…
  • Many people on here will tell you they do 40carb 30protein 30fat. You need carbs to fuel your workouts. Balance is important! I have a hard time working carbs in for some reason... that is where I am usually low... fat is usually high (hallloooo peanut butter!). The other day I was really too low on my carb intake... and…
  • Need to see posts like this to keep me truckin'!
  • I am in reset. I have added in 15 minutes of HIIT after each lifting session. I do Playing Card Plyometrics. http://youtu.be/txNPSfqR9Ws - I use this one as "A" and then made my own "B" and use them alternating with the NROLFW A/B. One round takes me about 15 minutes, but as I get better I hope to get to 2 rounds in 20…
  • I really needed this post. Am doing reset and man the temptation to start cutting is huge... feeling so SO squishy!!
  • 6 Days combined cardio/strength isn't moderate for starters. Either cut back on the cardio or up the calories. I've just started a few weeks ago on the reset, and read all the stickies. You may want to buy their $5 starter pack to save time. I didn't, but am thinking about buying it. Anyway, this is how I make it out:…
  • I was able to do 25 LEGIT push-ups (not from knees or a higher incline). This is a big deal for me!!
  • If you guys do HIIT, do you do it on off days or right after lifting? Trying to decide. Tonight, I did Jamie Eason's Playing Card Plyos right after lifting. Kind of sort of REALLY stunk. But I only had 1 round in me - not 2.
  • 800 Cals a day is an eating disorder unless you are supervised by a doctor and/or have had some sort of surgery for that. People aren't meaning to attack - just help. Google Auschwitz + calories. Non-labor prisoners ate 1200-1300 calories. Light work was about 1700 calories, and strenuous work was 2100. These numbers are…
