I am 24 and trying to lose 55 kg (121lb).

I am currently on around 2000 calories. I am probably eating too much protein as it is and am drinking about 3-4 litres of water a day anyway.

He is a trained professional who has dedicated over a decade to his training. I think you should listen to him rather than all the people on here who say otherwise. He is an expert. These people are anecdotal experts.

Recovering from a broken leg and ankle and am having surgery next week. I make do though.

It depends on the type of lifting. If you are deadlifting your 5rm max you will be burning a lot more than if you are 10 repping bicep curls. Generally compound lifts will burn a lot more calories if you do them at the right weight and intensity.

I think it is easy to say to say risk offending someone but it often runs deeper than that due to some extenuating circumstances. I only recently moved back home as I lived away from home for four years for uni. Since moving back to Melbourne and trying to find a grounding, it just gets tougher and tougher.
