  • Just relax! Have a couple of drinks beforehand and all will be fine. My first time I was reallllly nervous, so I just ended up critquing their performances on stage and trying to decide which one looked the most bored! Some of the ladies are pretty impressive dancers...focus on that instead of the nekkidness and you'll be…
  • Have you had your thyroid checked? I have problems keeping my body warm when my thyroid levels are too low.
  • I came in at 14,419 calories burned for June. Not the 16K I was hoping for, but still pretty awesome :) Let me know if there's a july challenge...I'd like to try again!

  • Upcoming Race: Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Location: Kansas City, KS Date: August 11 Duration: 5k Trail or Road: Road Goal Time: Want to break the 30 minute barrier! First Race?: Nope, 10th (or 11th...I've lost count) Post Race Reward: Mexican food! I might sign up for another that will be in late July, but it depends…
  • My diary is open to my friends! Feel free to add me :)
  • I use Runkeeper and I love it. It syncs to MFP and to Gym-Pact, and the calories burned are pretty accurate. I have noticed that the distance is a bit off when I compare it to my Garmin (gets worse the longer the distance) so speed/pace might be off with, but that would be more of a training problem and not necessarily a…
  • My biggest thing (and pet peeve) is to get up from your desk to speak with someone! Not only will this help build relationships, but will give you a few more steps here or there. My boss often calls me from 15 feet away...so frustrating! I've also heard that sitting on an exercise ball helps (although I haven't tried it…
  • Working out helps me relieve some of the bloating and cramps. It also puts me in a better mood, which makes my SO come out of hiding :) The only time I've avoided it was when I ran my first half. I didn't want to worry about the energy drain and lack of bathrooms so I just stopped my pills a week early to get it over with…
  • I go to the club with mine...and he buys me lap dances! It's a fun time!
  • Foam roller! I use one after running and after strength training and it does wonders for me.
  • I had this feeling the other night when I watched Magic Mike. I had heard great things about it (from my girlfriends) so I was kind of looking forward to it. I wanted a decent storyline to go with the half-naked well-shaped menfolk dancing and gyrating around, but it fell really short. I kept wondering when it would be…
  • I had the same fears as you while preparing for my first half in April. I had run the course a couple of weeks before and had to stop 11 miles in due to cramps and general leg pain. I had to call for a ride back to my car because I just felt like I couldn't go any further. I freaked OUT! I had myself so paranoid by the…
  • Figuring in my run and softball yesterday: From today until June 30 I need to burn 3,674 calories. This will be difficult because I have a lot of stuff going on this week. The rest of the week looks like this: Strength today Speed work & an ab class tomorrow Strength & a boxing class on Thurs Running intervals on Friday…

  • I was trying to get out of an unhealthy relationship and moved in with my best friend and her roommate who I had never met. Although I thought he was a total douche the first time I met him, he eventually grew on me and we've been together 4 years and engaged to be married!
  • June 14th...and I have around 40-45 left to lose!
  • This week I've got a lot of softball planned so I'm hoping to get a little caught up for the month! Goal this week: 4,000 (I WILL hit this!!!) Already this week: 2530 Left this week: an ab class tonight (and possibly a puppy walk) 4 mile run tomorrow 3 mile and interval run Friday *hopefully..depends on how well the 4…

  • This was one of those pictures I didn't know was being taken. When I was going through graduation photos later to pick some to put on the website I was horrified! I joined MFP the next day...
  • I was really close to meeting my goal last week, but I'm sure I can hit it this week! I've already burnt 1,222 of my 4,000 goal this week. Looks promising!

  • I'm super-close to 30...seriously...next month....eep! It's great to see so many 30 somethings on here! It gives me motivation to keep working even though I'm paranoid my body will rebel the second it sees how old I'm getting.
  • The big one in my region is Lawrence, KS/Columbia, MO....but that's mainly college athletics. It's still there even though MO has now switched conferences. there's even a 5k that happens in the fall called the "rivalry run" that pits KS folks against MO folks....pretty cool. Just to be clear what side I'm on....ROCK…
  • ^^^THIS!! This has saved my armpits, the places where my HRM hits and my thighs from burning. I also make my SO use it for his "manly parts" since he works outdoors, and he hasn't had a single problem with chaffing or burning this year! Last year, when he wasn't using it, he was in massive pain. Body Glide is a lifesaver!
  • If I remember right, my goal was 12,000 or 15,000...I only came in around 10,000 due to vacation and other stressful events. I hope we do a June challenge so I can bust through my goal this month!
  • I started training in September and ran my first 10K in January. That was with a lot of "off" weeks. You definitely have enough time! If you are just getting back into it, start slow! It will build faster than you think :) I took 3 years off from running, but my muscles seemed to remember when I started running again.…
  • I'm 5'6" SW: 241 CW: 187 GW: I want to hit 140, but I will definitely adjust the closer I get! Feel free to add me!
