  • Slow and steady is the way. Better a loss than a gain!! You're doing awesome! 20lbs is the challenge, something to aim for. If you don't make the full 20, that's not a failure. Every pound off is something to be proud of!

  • My 3 1. Exercise alone won't do it, Nutrition is vital! 2. Doing this for anyone other than myself is pointless 3. What works for you may not work for me, you are not as big an expert as you think you are about MY physiology!
  • I'l be doing my weigh in tomorrow.
  • 20lbs by Thanksgiving might be pushing it, it's on November 22nd. ;o)

  • If you have the means, perhaps using a service like www.goodmeasuremeals.com would be an option? I use a similar service here in the UK which has worked wonders for me both in terms of providing the right nutrition and aiding my weight loss.

  • 1. Nutrition is a vita component. It's not just about cutting calories, it's about the quality of what you consume too. 2. Cardio and Strength Training are both vital. Combine the two with a Kettlebell workout. Bingo.
  • Congrats on your impending wedding! Personal Opinion only and what works for me. 1. Drink plenty of water. 2L or so a day. 2. Watch your Sodium intake. Excess salt in your diet can be a leading cause in water retention. 3. Eat calories = to your BMR, and make sure you use 1100 calories more than that. Should give you…

  • Kettlebells rock. They are versatile, great from strength training, core training and cardio training, work multiple major muscle groups. Cannot reccomend them highly enough. As previously mentioned, correct form is imperitive, take a class or two and then see how you go.
  • I have a Garmin FR70, love it, and I can even sync my HRM details with my BodyBug Portal, integrates with my iPhone (via a little dongle) so I can use it with either the Garmin App or MapMyFitness. It's great, I love it.

  • If you are referring to the healthy range as defined by the BMI number, forget the BMI number. It's fine as a reference point but not something to live by. http://www.freefitguy.com/2011/04/18/measuring-health-why-you-should-throw-out-your-scale-and-ignore-bmi/ There are loads of similar articles out there.
  • still a good loss though!!
  • Kettlebells of various weights. Take a class or two to learn correct form and some basics so as not to injure yourself and swing away.
  • Are you solely relying on the Scale as your measurement of success? If so stop it! The Scale is scared that once you achieve your goals you won't need it anymore so it lies to you! Mr Tape Measure is your new BFF! Measure you Chest, Waist (at the belly button, no cheating now!!), Hips, Thighs, Calves and Biceps. These…
