I haven't done pullups myself and have a really hard time even with the chin-ups. But I'm thinking of trying this exercise to eventually be able to do them! http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/3-pullups

I was watching Dr. Oz the other day and he had Shaun T as a guest (from the Insanity DVDs). Instead of having one macronutrient ratio for the whole day, he recommends different ratios depending on the time of day: Breakfast: 40% Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% Fat (600 calories) Lunch: 25% Carbs, 45% Protein and 30% Fat (450…

I have the same issue when I was doing situps in class. I haven't found a way for it go to away, I just modify my exercises. Maybe for biking, you can get a cushion for your seat? For my mat exercises, I just form my hands in a diamond shape and support my tailbone that way. So when I do situps now, at least my tailbone…

Here's another site that might help. Once you fill out the top part, just click on the "7 day calorie cycle (zig-zag)" link: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

I allow myself a cheat meal, but not a cheat day, per week. As for a rest day, I take one day of active rest where I skip the gym but still try to stay active (ex. walking home). For me, a rest day cannot be on a weekend since I tend to designate my cheat meals on Sundays. So I definitely have to workout hard especially on…

I LOVE Luna Bars (9g of protein) but don't care for the Luna Protein (12g of protein) - not much of a difference to me when it comes to protein intake....at least to me. The only one that I can see myself eating occasionally are the Luna Protein Mint Chocolate Chip and the Cherry Almond. But the Luna Protein bars are more…

AU Perry, Can you post a link to your scale? The only WW scale I've seen are the ones where they have Lithium batteries. Thanks so much!! :flowerforyou:

Thank you - where do you get your batteries? Can they be replaced easily?

Back when I was close to 180 lbs, I had a stressful job and my eating habits were not the best. My typical day consisted of no breakfast, 2 foot-long meatball hero's with cheese for lunch and a whole large pepperoni pizza for dinner. lol When I look back on that now, it makes me sick to my stomach!! So I quickly gained…

I usually eat Greek yogurt with ground flaxseed and mixed fruits before my workouts so that I'll have energy, especially in the morning. Afterwards, I'll take a whey protein shake with almond milk mixed in with frozen bananas. You should take in protein + carbs within 30 mins after you workout.

Thank you!!

I also agree with the bodyrock.tv recommendation but since I don't have as much equipment as she does, I have better luck with toneitup.tv - one of the bloggers put the workouts (with pictures and descriptions) on index cards so she can bring them with her to the gym, work, school, etc. I thought that was a great idea! lol

Thank you so much! Forgot one more question - can you replace the batteries for your scales on your own?

I'm thinking of either doing my workouts late at night (but worried about being able to sleep?) to take my ST classes. My other option is early in the morning at around 6:30am, which sounds so foreign to me - as you all can see, I'm not a morning person!! But I'm glad to see that I'm not alone, and that we must make…
-
It depends on the day - on my cardio days, I aim for at least 400. On my ST class days, I aim for 350.

Great ideas - I never thought of downloading an interval timer app. Thanks ladies!!

That's exactly what I do and I've seen a consistent loss for a couple weeks now. I also burn about 350-400 calories according to my HRM and eat back most of those calories. I then net to about 1150-1180 every day. Congratulations on your amazing progress...keep it up!!

That's what I'm thinking of doing with my Monday weigh-in because my indulgences are on Sat/Sun. lol So at least if I weigh-in on Monday mornings, it'll hopefully help me to not go over too much and also help me be "good".
-
I'm nervous to set my weigh-in day as a Monday since the weekends are always so tough for me, but I'm thinking of experimenting. Hopefully it won't hurt me too much and will actually help keep myself accountable!!
