Any recs for a new scale?

I'd prefer a digital scale where I can change the batteries myself (AA/AAA). Also, for those that have a scale with body fat %, would anyone happen to know about how precise those numbers are? I've heard that they aren't very accurate, but was wondering how much they are usually "off" by.

Thanks in advance everyone!

No, they aren't accurate on anything but weight.

Here's a good one with normal batteries: http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Bathroom-Technology/dp/B001KXZ808/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1303128064&sr=8-1

I would like to know too.... I have a digital scale (cheap one) and my wii fit that i measure myself on. The Wii Fit weighs me about 3 pounds lighter than the digital scale...So I have no clue which one to go by lol

My personal trainer seems to think that the BF% scale they have at the gym is pretty accurate. Maybe it's like HRMs--the cheaper ones aren't but the pricier ones are? (I'm assuming the one at my gym is on the expensive side because they don't let members use them w/o a staff member helping, but since you're technically supposed to be paying for an appointment for that, maybe it's just a ploy to make more money.)

I'd be curious to know the answer to your question, though...and maybe it doesn't even matter if it's accurate, as long as it's consistent, so you can still know if you're going in the right direction.

I've the Withings Internet Scales, logs my (and the wifes and kids) weight/fat percentage on a (private) web site, makes tracking much easier. The web site has a nice trend line that irons out those peaks and troughs.

They even have an app for iphone and android.

I bought a Health O Meter over the weekend. So far so good. The only disappointment I have is that it weighed my 5lbs heavier (which is probably accurate) than the scale I had been using :noway: The Health O Meter is pretty cool because it calulates BMI, Body Hydration, Body Fat and Bone Density. It allows up to 4 users to keep track of their progress too. I bought it from Walmart for $35.

Oh, I meant to add that it came with 4 replaceable AA batteries!
